hi all,
just wondering if there are any big well known corporations that do not require API disclosure. fact is ive not even signed up for one myself and do not wish to.
I am completely new to Eve but am willing to put the effort in and hopefully rise through the ranks.
I hope to pvp and mission.
currently my main Command is of a Thorax Cruiser.

am really keen and am on a fair bit.
please if you would like me or are willing to consider me, reply to this thread, pms only later...

No.

Have you actually looked at what info those corps are pulling through API?
All the info I give through API to my alliance is used for either supporting infrastructure (automatically pulling my character name into my forum account, and on Mumble, and on Jabber), or tools that members can use (a skill checker with pre-made skill plans that allow you to get into cool ships as fast as possible, with good enough skills to actually fly it).

What is the big deal with providing an API key? It is a standard practice and it take 30 seconds to generate one. Most EVE players have many of those generated for various purposes (almost every 3rd party app or service requires one).

Refusing to provide one looks suspicious when you really don't have any reason not to.

yea api is used for all the wrong reasons now.

when i used to require it i wanted it to check all alts corp history for potential spies. and nothing more.. maybe to also check for corp theives. today its completely abused. and to that end our corp no longer requires api checks..

What kind of income does your corp generate per month?

The Coreli Corporation is recruiting.

I know it sounds pretty sad but I am worried about my game getting ruined and it seems to me is if someone had access to my api, its not as nasty or insidious as hacking but it can still ruin a player's game, with people knowing what you are doing, where and when.
if I sign up for one then if I am hacked my stuff is available that's why I don't even want to sign up for one myself and keep it private.
apis sound a good idea but having had negative online experiences in the past, I am very weary.

I would be willing to sign up for one, provide details to a Corp, and then delete it if it is deletable so am not totally inflexible.

@Adamai , vmt for the offer. under consideration as i hope i am or will be :)

Allow them to use your API, remove API from account day after. If they ask you why you closed the API then you know they are watching it, most likely nobody will say anything because as it was said before, they really should only be used to check all your characters' emp history and look for corporate thieves. I allow AirHogs to continue using my API because I trust the corp, and believe that it could be beneficial to me for the more experienced players in the corp to have access to my API, and be able to give me feedback in the event that they do use it for anything - something which I am pretty sure they don't do.

You should check out how they work. You can't really abuse someone elses api key and even if you could the people that will have the keys will probably be ceo/directors.

http://community.eveonline.com/support/api-key/update

you get little checkboxes saying what info you can give out, a lot of corps only use full api keys though so you may not get the option to choose what you want there.

only time i would be worried about giving out api key is if i was playing the market for tens of billions or if i had a shady eve mail history but that's just me personally.
