recons have not changed since I started playing eve a year ago

Pilgrims used to be very popular as PvE gankers as it is cloaky and the neuts will vaporize the active tanks that PvE players tend to use, however with the advent of NPC aggro it has become far more difficult as the Neuts+Scram+Ewar+Drones of the Pilgrim attract alot of aggro and chances are you'll get the whole room on you which can be problematic.

It depends on what you want to do really, but you really have to capitalize on the cloak or the Curse tends to outperform it.

I've actually been looking into the Pilgrim & Curse quite a bit.

Trying to work out which one would suit my playstyle more.

I like the idea of being able to sneak up on people in the pilgrim using the Cov-ops cloak......but you do really have to get up close to make use of the neuts. Given it's mediocre tank....that could be a problem, but the TDs should come in use in that scenario as long as you don't engage a missile ship.

The curse might be a bit more forgiving though as you can engage at much longer ranges...giving you that GTFO capability. In the pilgrim...once you're committed.....you in it until one of you dies.

The curse does look soo much sexier with that Khanid paint job though


Guess the only way to find out is to just get out there and test them

I haven't flown a Pilgrim in a long time. I would put some medium blasters on it and neuts, get some dps but you must be careful for sure. If I find my fit I will post it

I know one girl who can pvp better than most of the boys,
that's an interesting fit but completely ignores the ship bonus's and will die to... well, almost anything

This actually makes the Curse fantastic for offensive plexing in faction warfare. It lets you offensively plex in Medium plexes without getting disturbed.

The only reason something would come i is if it thinks it has the backup to beat you. So far I've had a Cynabal come in and tackle me, only to have his Kitsune buddy come in afterwards. Another time an Osprey Navy Issue came in and once I started fighting him he had 3 Caracals come in to back him up.

Of course, the Curse is great at escaping from fights, so I haven't lost it yet....

Solo pilgrim is more tactics/target search and selection, than fit.

And yes, it had no changes at least in last 5 years.


There is no best/universal fit, you need to adjust your fit to targets and tactics, buuut usually it is slow armor tanked brick. Although shield fits and even single large neut fits a-la covert curse exist too.

In other words, game's been rebalanced in the last three years in such a way that I need to sell my Pilgrims and buy another Loki, or a couple more Curses...

I kinda hated solo hunting in the Curse, because of :dscan:

Loved showing up in a Pilgrim, neuting out a Raven's tank, waiting for him to die... half the time I didn't even deploy my drones to kill a ratting or plexing Raven. Unlike another poster suggested, the Curse was a gang boat for me, as it wouldn't be seen to spook the quarry until the Rapier or Arazu had it locked down for us. Then I just came in to make sure they didn't tank, and we sorta hoped for a pvp response as we were hunting in foreign nullsec. Usually no response, but when there was a response, we could often wreck two or three people before the full blob got in range to chase us off.

The Pilgrim was my 'nobody's around and I don't feel like hunting BCs in my Wolf or AC Vengeance' go-to ship. Sad if that's over, now.
