Just curious if there's new on when this will be released, or if there's a basic version running already.

From what's been said, we're waiting on Legal to finish up the developers license.

CREST is up and running fine (Dust uses it extensively). But they need to knock off the corners off the license, for international use.

Isn't it more likely that with CREST having been turned into an internal communications bus between DUST and EVE that it's now even further away from being suitable for third-party usage?

We see nothing but endless delays to CREST, I expect never.

Crest was /always/ for communications between Dust and EVE.

The CREST API would be nice, but frankly the license seems more important. How many people who haven't would write an eve app if they could make money on it?

That license won't allow us to make money out of the API.

If you want to make money off CCP's IP, then contact CCP and arrange a profit sharing license.

That's the only way that you'll be able to make any money. CCPs partners would be somewhat displeased with CCP if people were allowed to do it for free, when they've had to pay.

  • You can take ISK donations and Real Money donations to cover your costs, but you can't charge outright for usage, access or download of your application.
  • You can show ads in your application, but they can't be ads for stuff that's EULA-breaking, like RMT ads. We also reserve the right to ban other types of ads at our discretion - but this is a right we need to retain to protect our business, not intended to be an arbitrary or draconian ad policy. We just need the ability to deal with this on a case-by-case basis.

Looks like a way to make (admittedly relatively small) amounts of money to me.
