Instadock vs manual warp to station (not autopilot)

Does either one have an advantage over the other? Usually I'll warp to the station and as soon as I come out I'm right there and docking takes a couple seconds at most. Is the instadock method quicker and/or better? I already know not to autopilot to my destination because it drops me out of warp about 15k from the station and that's a pretty solid way to get ganked if you're not careful. Opinions?

manual warp can land you a few km actually off the undock leaving you vulnerable until you can get into docking range.

Always make instadocks on dangerous stations

It seems to me that ships with less mass tend to drop out of warp farther away from station than bigger ones. This is especially noticable with pods, imo, which can be lethal during a wardec.

it's that one time where you get out of warp too soon and there are bad guys in tornadoes sitting on the station when you learn to value your instadock bookmarks....

I should buy an Ishtar.

As above: instant dock bookmarks are under your control. Where you come out of warp is not in your control: there is an error margin of 2500m while the maximum docking range is 500m.
