EVE Teaching Stream!

I'm going to start trying to do a series of live streams where I talk about various concept about EVE and detail UI functionality.

How do I change the overview?
How do I join a channel?
What do those timers in the top corner mean?
What are all these options in the escape menu?

Stuff like that. Once I've covered a decent chunk of the UI I'll get into more complex concepts such as how to fit ships, how to use dscan, how to do PI and stuff like that.

To start off I'll be doing a walk through of the tutorial. Run into a spot where a skill or a weapon is missing? I'll probably run into the same problem and show you how to fix it...either that or I'll end up showing you what order to do things in so that you dont get confused with out of order missions asking you to do things that you haven't learned yet.

I'll also try to elaborate when the game gives too plain of an explanation.

The first of these streams will probably be this friday or saturday and probably happen at the 02:00 to 06:00 range UTC on friday, just about any time on Saturday

I'll try to make these a regular thing :3

Oh also because it's a live stream you can ask questions about the topic at hand and I'll have them on screen with the stream so that future viewers that watch the recording can see what was asked at the time :D

They will be happening here: http://www.twitch.tv/xercodo

Edit: I'll probably be taking most questions from twitch chat, however I have an in-game channel called "Xerc Stream" you guy guys can join. You can join the channel by going to the menu at the top left of the screen, going to the social category and opening the chat channels window. Type it in and join :D

Welcome to EVE! :D

For the future, give some thought into things, that might make your stream even remotely interesting to watch. A guy simply playing the in-game tutorials isn't one of those and I wouldn't watch that crap no matter what game it was. If I'm a new player already playing the game, that isn't helping me in any way and if I don't already play the game, what you're showing doesn't really apply to me and isn't particularly interesting anyway. There is a good reason many players skip the tutorials out of habit.

Also try to find content suitable for your show. Ask your viewers what areas of the game they would like for you to go through in future episodes. There are propably many ideas and questions, that older players and devs tend to miss or aren't suitable to be dealt with in the typical tutorial/mission format. Going through them and explaining them in a stream might work much better. Point being keep your eye out for ideas and ways, that allow you to leverage your stream to do things, that aren't as well suited to other formats.

Don't worry DSQ, I already have a decent following on twitch. There's plenty of people that were interested in it when I mentioned the idea with most responses being "when are you gonna start that stream?!"

They're excited by the prospect of learning this way and like I tried to mention in my OP, I'll try to elaborate on things as I go. I could possibly use the teaching topic to lead in to something else, like manufacture leading in to the player driven market. Or using incursions as an introduction to the Sansha backstory and point out the live events that happened leading up to the actual incursions.

My passion for EVE is half of the reason I'm doing this, and it's with that passion, or some might say obsession, that I can fluff up my streams that market EVE as a deep, complex and living universe.

It'll be informative, but I still love giving people the oos and ahhhs from doing things like showing them the titans or just opening the map and slowly zooming out to show the entire map. :D
