I like the new films.

They are enjoyable.

And better than TOS.

i like the new films as well. i never really watched the old stuff. some of the picard stuff i remember, i guess. hologram deck and all that.

remembering particular episodes titles is a pretty impressive display of nerdom. i like it lol. it's adorable.

i've never had that sort of love for a show. even ones i really like such as game of thrones. maybe one day!

Watched it on BBC when I was around 12... you know something is that good when this melody at the end brings a tear to your eye and haunts you after a decade.

Definitely one of Patrick Stewards best performances in anything.

I really enjoyed watching TNG as a kid, and then really loved DS9 (the later ones where they turned Sisko back into Hawk from Spencer for hire...., I didnt really like Voyager much until they squeezed Jeri Ryan into purple spandex (for obvious reasons) but at least the later seasons were decent.

I really wanted to like Enterprise, but they started the series off with time travel bull****, and that pretty much killed it for me (I f****** hate time travel in ST as i believe it to be a copout, once in a while is fine..dont get me started on the ST movie reboot....). They had infinite directions in which to go, but its like they had to hurry up and get in line with the original series cannon instead of developing the trial and error method of the first explorations and such. I really enjoyed Scott Bakula in Quantum Leap, and was hoping for more from him, but as a captain he just fell flat.

Im hoping one day theyll get another ST franchise on TV. There are soo many storylines on which they could build a series out there.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

I disagree, time travel works in a show but only if it is established as a core component of the lore like in Doctor Who. Which also uses it for character development, fleshing out the decisions you can make to influence, putting Hitler in the cupboard ect.

On a semi related note I've been advised to check out quantum leap... any good?

My favorite will always be TNG, it was my first, it was based around the comings and goings of the flagship of the fleet, and Captain Picard \o/.

I never really got into DS9 or Voyager, and I completely missed Enterprise. I saw a few episodes on Netflix and thought the concept was awesome: a mix of Star Trek with NASA thrown in, Tripp was an awesome character. It almost felt liek watching a documentary on Apollo 11, only it was Enterprise.

You make a valid point, good Sir or Madam.

This!

But seriously, I liked any series that did a good sci-fi story. Q Who, The Visitor, Distant Origin and Star Trek the motion picture were good ideas and intriguing concepts.

I'm Naomi Hale and this is my favourite thread on the forums.

DS9 has to be my favorate as it seems to me a novel on top of a novel within a novel and after you follow it all from the very beginning to the very end it gets emotional and I get a feeling that I just read a damn fine book.
