Gerne Broteau has gotten at least 14 life sentences to serve now. It makes me wonder though, as a capsuleer, if I were to get a life sentence for something, what counts as a life?

This is a troll.

Everyone knows that no one who plays Eve has a life.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

And since you cannot kill what has no life, 14 life sentences would be quite long for us.

a life its the period you have between each time you activate a new clone, simple, 14 life sentences mean that i would have to serve for the amount of time i would sum in 14 clones life...

of course, this, if you would live enough to see your current clone getting age, i mean, a clone dying of age instead of other factors, in that case...

I am kind of imagining it like the HIMYM slap bet. People would be in jail will the ability to be sentenced to death randomly at any moment by a variety of means....You could have capital punishment rates through the roof with the whole capsuleer dilemma.

For that matter, statistics in general would be a really weird field. Birth rates and mortality rates would be practically meaningless.

The loremeisters over in the EVE Fiction section could probably speculate on this question better.

Isn't flying a super basically the same as a life sentence? Albeit in a pimp-prison.

Give a man a match and you warm him for a day.

Set a man on fire and he's warm for the rest of his life!

Baby seals count as a life. Pregnant women count as two. Our EvE toons don't count at all, or if they did, it would be rated in PLEX to buy clones.

Your capsuleer's life ends when you biomass the character.

If you start now you can get to 14 in a week or two, then come back and report your findings.

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.

Ok so the guy is in jail and not in a capsule, so he cant jump to a clone because the capsule has all that tech in it. But here is as a possible option for a jail break.

A friend smuggles him an implant used with infantry clones, modified to allow him to jump to a clone but also leave the clone in jail alive. Best prison break ever.

That is what Security Status and CONCORD are for. Capsuleers are pretty much immune to planetary law enforcement due to the combination of being feared for their immortality by non-capsuleers, and the fact that even the poorest of capsuleers possess the financial means to pay off/bribe an entire planetary population. Non-CONCORD laws are also avoidable by having clones in other area of empire space. Look, when it comes down to it, CONCORD blows you out of the sky and doesnt let you come back to Empire space until you have an appropriate security status and you stop wasting everyone's time with stupid/pompous philosophical questions.

Fourteen Sentences:

1. Hello EVE.
2. My name is Tom Gerard.
3. I would like to explain that fourteen sentences is basically a wall of text.
4. A wall of text is something people will not read.
5. Giving anyone fourteen of anything is a bit extreme.
6. Ever try to eat a twelve piece chicken nugget? now add two, you'd be dead!
7. I am halfway there.
8. Some people call me the space cowboy.
9 Some people call me the gangster of love.
10. Some people call me Maurice, because I speak of the pompetous of love.
11. I am a picker, a grinner, a lover and I am a sinner.
12. I play my music in the sun.
13. Seriously fourteen sentences is absolutely a wall of text.
14. Nobody will read this.

Now with 100% less Troll.

well if a capsuleer got 14 life sentences you could finish your sentence that same day

led to holding cell, suicide
led back to holding cell, suicide
led back to holding cell, suicide
rinse and repeat until 14 life sentences are complete

reclone, update your med clone and head back to afk mining while watching episode of family guy that were broadcast in the 21st century from Earth the signals would finally be reaching New Eden so sit back and enjoy afk mining...
