Setting fps to 125 gave you bonus to movement rates in some games like quake 3. However. A bunch of new technological doohickies and dribblecode has changed things. Yes a 120hz monitor is awesome. With more than a 1/100000 contrast ratio. I doubt getting more than 60 fps in Eve is relevant. However. I wonder what kind of tweaks EveVR will bring. Dont forget to turn on your cooling systems before you boot!

So you guys are saying there is no point in having more than 60 FPS as most screens won't show anything above.

However wouldn't SLI help in keeping at least 60 FPS when there is an engagement going that would stress a single card below 60 FPS?

Many EVE vids are captured at 15fps and you will simply hardly ever notice it. Sure an SLI could help in messy situations but generally if you have SO much on screen you'll be zoomed out anyway, so your card doesn't really matter. And there'll be way other stuff that'll lag or cause a slow down (Tidi for instance).

Graphical lag is only really an issue on things like notebooks or not being zoomed out in large fleets, nothing SLI would help with.

Excellence is not a skill, it's an attitude.

SLI works fine in window mode.

I can tell by watching my GPU temps that both are being used. I have a EVGA GTX 690 (replaced two EVGA GTX 285).

Rendering >60 FPS allows frames to be discarded, so performances doesn't drop below 60 FPS. Post-processing can also use the extra frames as intermediate frames for better rendering of the displayed frames.

I got 12fps outside Jita 4-4 during the anniversary celebrations despite having quad SLI GTX 690s.

There isn't a SLI profile (not an optimised one at least) for Eve.

dosnt matter, even if you had 4 titans, EVE is single CORE CPU Bound thus what you had was a processor dying from stress.

Where you want to see the difference is at higher resolutions. I run 30 Inch Monitors 2 of them at 2560 x 1600. SLI is a must...

OK, so i tested a few things, and since i got a new conclusion... SLI in eve is amazing i did not even know, me i play with alts all the time in windowed mode, and you dont need to tab out with SLI, you can just click the other screen and control from there, no need to click tab alt or anything... without SLI multiboxing would require another software like ISBoxer, now i know why people use ISBoxer.... lols because you need to alt tab even if you have multible monitors

Well its not SLI sorry its actually there screen spanning toll, us it
