You'll get used to it sooner or later. Give it a week or two before you cry all over the forums.

Give it two weeks. We've been using the old button for ten years, it'll take a while to adjust.

I have this Z thing happening constantly, goto Undock, smeg its not there, where did they that thing again, browse through the "Eve Menu" thing, there is no button to drag into place :( oh that's right station services, restore Station Services(from being minimised), undock
(had this constantly the last couple of nights whilst doing PI stuff, I minimise Station Services to get a little more screen real-estate when doing PI, 36 planets, about 40-50 undocks, later I still go looking for the undock button in the old location)

People cry over the stupidest things.

It'd be hardly crying, and if your undock button really annoys you that much, drag station services to the left, and click "align right" on the neocom, then go into your display settings and flip your screen! :P

Edit: i think the station services tab should be customizable aswell just like you can move things around in the neocom.

For six years, I clicked in the bottom corner of the screen to undock. Then I finally decided for Odyssey that I'd get set up on the test server.

It took me three days to get accustomed to the great big giant undock button at the bottom of the station services menu on SiSi. Then they moved it. Took me three or four days to get used to that. Then I went back onto TQ and kept looking for the button in the new location. It was never there. How bloody annoying to have the button in two places. Meanwhile you're making us tread water in the collective fountain of tears about everyone having to learn one new location that stays constant.

You'll adapt. Muscle memory can be changed if you actually try to change it instead of moaning about it.

Maybe if people spent less time crying about the changes and more time getting used to them instead of outright rejecting every single new thing and demanding ways to turn them off and revert them and generally turn their clients back to Red Moon Rising, we wouldn't be having this thread and all the others like it.

Over six years of muscle memory will not permit me to freely undock now. I always catch myself moving to the lower left corner and finding no button, then having to backtrack back towards the top right. Perhaps I shouldn't have drank so many beers and played this game for so many years. I must have fried all of my "adaptation" brain cells. Will CCP put my undock button back, or at least pay for me to get a new Memory Augmentation - Improved implant? [which is what I had before Budweiser podded me nightly for six years ;) ] Shocked

I've read this thread and if the only thing you guys manage to achieve with it is to make me feel really good about myself it hasn't been a wasted thread. Just give yourselves a pat on the back.... if you can remember where that is, of course Lol

Why do I feel good about myself after reading this thread, I hear you cry? (or in some cases mumble... you know who you are)

Because I'm slow to learn and adapt and it took me all of 30 minutes to get my head around the fact that the undock had moved. Yes, the first 3 times I tried to undock I naturally moved the mouse pointer to the bottom left but that's all it took to adjust to the new position.

So yeah, I rule, obviously!

That said, I have no specific objections to making the position of the undock button configurable other than it's a bit on the pointless side. You will eventually adapt. No matter how mentally inferior to me you are Blink

A bit on the pointless side? Sure, just like moving it in the first place.

I clicked the bottom left a few times then learned too. Doesn't change the fact that moving it off of the configurable neocom that holds all our other commonly used buttons and not giving people the option to put it back there was dumb. The station services tab could disappear entirely and it would take me less time to get used to.

Finally, the wise words i was looking for.

Why did we get spinning ships back and even with a counter?

Left side is the working control panel for user actions, so why should one use action get moved to the right.

Anything else on the right side except undock you can access on the left side.

All station services, agents just not undock.

The new position is not the best. Also the new undocking method is bad, does
not give me any transition feedback, most of the time i am not sure if that button
activated or not, the progress bar was great, showing something was happening.

Why change stuff that nobody ever complained about, instead of doing useful
things, like a log out option, it is quite annoying to switch characters, and most
of the pilots use multiple tabs on the account.

Or make drones control easier, put a button HUD to have them engage on
activation, return and orbit on deactivation, etc...

If you think there's no feedback, you're obviously not looking for it.

The whole station is your feedback. The button itself lights up one arrow at a time and confirms the undocking when all three arrows are lit.

Yes you are right about the arrows, If i get really close to the monitor i can see the difference in color due to the
low light setting that i am using.

Pressing the undock button gives no feedback, beside the text saying Abort Undock under the button. It is a hint at least,
but gives me the feeling that i am in station and can do stuff in station, interact with the station services etc.
I can press that button by accident and like accidental mouse click and have no feedback i did that, and just end up
in space while looking at the second screen.

Undocking is an important decision in eve, the one getting your ship blown up and should be treated like that.
