Since DT today, the lag has been extraordinary. Confirmed it wasn't just myself with a few folks in NPC corp. It's taking up to 5-7 seconds at times to activate or deactivate modules.

Please say this is being looked in to.

Sorry, that might be me. I'm downloading the client onto a new laptop. Just 120 hours to go!

[insert random rubbish that irritates you personally] is further evidence that Eve is dying/thriving*

Possibly something to do with the massive war going on in fountain and some important timers that were set for just after DT?

I have no idea what any of this means. I'm just a newbie "high sec bear". If you wanted to expound on that and educate a bear like me, I'd be appreciative.

I too am experiencing this.

Both with activation/deactivation of my modules and when using the markets.

Kinda fun watching the ships around the respective staging systems, but the timers show what systems and structures are coming out of various stages of reinforcement, which means they can be attacked and knocked into the next stage or conquered.

The timers exist because EvE is a worldwide game and it tried to accomodate all time zones, so when a system comes under attack, attackers must first setup Sovereignty Blockade Units, which allow structures in system to become vulnerable. Then they can be knocked into shield reinforcement, to which a random timer gets set, between 24 hours and a few days, I believe. When the timer is up, then armor can be attacked, so on and so forth until you get to structure and then the station/structure is conquered or destroyed.

Knowing that, you can look at hte various timers and get an idea of how the war is going and know when those staging systems should start lighting up with activity on the live feed.

And yeah, CCP is reinforcing all those systems expecting large fights, they probably borrowed resources from wherever you are stationed. So in a way, this war directly affects you, you should take interest in its progress. Lol

You make a valid point, good Sir or Madam.

Just for you Moon and keeping it simple which might mean that I generalize a bit.

The server (TQ) is balanced to get optimum performance under all load conditions. TQ is actually a collection of servers that can have power redirected to reinforce heavily used null sec systems. As there is a major war happening in Fountain - servers are being called on to allow the fights to happen. This may take away some of the responsiveness from your server and you experience "lag"

Hope this helps

I am aware of my own ignorance and have checked my emotional quotient - thanks for asking
