Why is the entire Great Wildlands controlled by npc Thukker tribe? I couldnt post this in alliance section i guess because i am not in an alliance. But its got me terribly curious.

Great Wildlands is a NPC controlled region. There are a few regions like this such as Syndicate, Curse and Venal. Fountain, Pure Blind and Delve have NPC controlled constellations. Players can't take sov from NPCs.

Is it feasible to live out there? What would I need to survive?

Yes.

Ships.

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.

There are people who live in Great Wildlands already and you would have to learn how to deal with hostile neighbors and make friends. You could live in one of the stations or put up a pos in space. The pos would likely be attacked sooner or later but you could still have fun while it lasted. There are NRDS groups in Great Wildlands (people who don't shoot neutrals on sight) but there are also NBSI groups (people who do shoot neutrals on sight).

Living in GW, even solo, is entirely possible. Knowledge about game mechanics is a greater barrier then being able to fly all kinds of crazy ships. I go to GW from time to time when I want to fly solo and do some lightweight industry. My skills for that aren't perfect but people are willing to pay a little more for stuff, which makes it worth it. Republic Alliance is one of the largest alliances there, they are NRDS and anti-pirate. All you need is ships and the balls to actually fly there! Big smile

They still exist? I thought they went under a long time ago.

The Thukker Tribe were badass enough to simply choose not to fully incorporate themselves into the Minmatar Republic. They roam the Great Wildlands in nomadic caravans, while still managing to hold the space.

If you check out a lot of the advanced, fast, slippery Minmatar ships, they're Thukker Mix.

Yes they're still there after all this time. I guess they never did get over losing sov P

For those wondering, GW was a sov region for about a week then CCP decided it should be npc. Unlike other npc regions of null it has only 3 station systems (one off the main route) so unless you want to mess about with POS (don't unless you can defend it) you're crammed into 3 systems with most of the rest of GW being completely dead for most of the time.

Well, it has been a while since I visited... 4-6 weeks maybe? It wasn't terribly busy (everything but) but yeah, some RA members where in the first station coming from the north. Had a friendly chat with a few, spotted them running small camps and roaming around in small gangs. I recommend making a stop at their station and say hello, seemed a pretty friendly group bantering in local.

Depending on your sec stat, your mileage may vary! Pirate
