You don't have to activate SLI, as long as it's activated in the driver (which it will be) you're fine. However, SLI (and crossfire for that matter) only work in full screen so if you used windowed mode then only one of the cards will work. Would you run more than 1 client you could assign one card to a specific client and the other card take care of the second one but it's not really logical.

All in all SLI and Crossfire really aren't that amazing, for various reasons.

Considering a single card can drive EVE at 60 FPS, SLI is massive massive overkill.

And you won't get higher than 60FPS, unless your monitor has a higher refresh rate. Eve defaults to Vsync on.

If you want to turn that off (for some reason. no real point driving higher rates when your monitor isn't able to display them), you want to turn 'Interval' to Immediate on the graphics screen. Just don't complain when your card melts. Blink

So... What's your screen refresh rate?

how do i see that?

My fps with highest res and highest quality settings in fleet with 40 ppl shooting is around 150 now!
Is that good? my grapchic cards are gtx 660 sc*2.

What Mr Ronuken is attempting to explain Kain, is that while the theoretical maximum FPS you could obtain from an Eve client may be much higher, physical hardware limitations make this a moot point.

Your monitor will, presumably, have a refresh rate of 60hz meaning that the maximum FPS it is physically capable of displaying is 60FPS. In other words, don't trust the internal Eve FPS counter because it does not reflect the practical hardware limit.

It would be more beneficial to you to keep v-sync on and improve the shelf life of your graphics card.

What he means is that your screen FPS is most likely 60hz, there are screens that do 120hz but if you had one you'd know about it. So your screen refresh being 60 it makes no sense to have more than 60 fps and all it does it fry your videocard and put the card's cooling fan on overdrive.

So, your super fps is meaningless and literally useless. Just set it to interval 1 and be done with it.

So you guys are saying there is no point in having more than 60 FPS as most screens won't show anything above.

However wouldn't SLI help in keeping at least 60 FPS when there is an engagement going that would stress a single card below 60 FPS?

I got 12fps outside Jita 4-4 during the anniversary celebrations despite having quad SLI GTX 690s.

There isn't a SLI profile (not an optimised one at least) for Eve.
