Been away for a long time just returning to see what's new and decided to start running some missions.

Any advice on my fitting below would be appreciated - I haven't made a fit in a very long time and a lot of things have changed!

I use this, It's main 'tank' is it's dps and the MJD. It does 946 missile dps out to well over its max targetting range (121 km) and is cheap enough to not be a huge gank target.
I recommend you get a couple of implants to push the DPS up even even further, a CM-605 in slot 6 and a RL-1005 in slot 10 will give it 1045 missile dps (1146 with drones).

Gist boosters are very expensive and I generally avoid them on my mission boats, they are unnecessary too, use Pith Boosters if you have to use deadspace, they're cheaper, provide more burst tank (good with a cap booster) and the only downside is extra CPU cost, in fact most of the time DG Shield Boosters are enough.

never use flux coils

2 shield boost amps not worth it. Far overtanked and it's better to get a target painter on there and possibly a MJD

swap out drones and resists as often as you swap out missile damage types (check before every mission)

you could get away with a focused, three slot passive resist setup between two damage types (eg: angels EX EX KIN or guristas KIN KIN THERM) and get T2-level resists.

go with an X-L Ancillary booster to save ISK. with resists approaching 90% according to your enemy type, you'll have to touch the booster a few times (make sure to set auto-repeat OFF), but only while you're duking out the high dps ships. also gets you the same burst rep as a 425M ISK Gist A-type LSB.

The tractor beam does have a range of 24 km, but you'll still find yourself slow boating to wrecks and gates. considering the Afterburner only gets you up to 2.5 times your base speed, you might as well fight without a propulsion mod, and use a microwarp to push yourself around grid after the fighting is done.

cuz really, with the range of cruises, why bother moving while you shoot. (if you don't plan on moving anyway, you can laugh when they web you)

also use T1 drones. hurts the wallet less when they get eaten.

example of a KIN/KIN/THERM Guristas setup (top is an Angels EXP EXP KIN, and also displays prop mod and X-L ASB off)

This is what I'd probably use. Very cheap, very mobile kiting fit. I haven't actually tried it though, so maybe it doesn't need 3 prop mods on it. I like the versatility of having all 3 though, mainly due to not being able to MJD to a gate and then MJD again on the other side.

I'm suddenly realizing I need to try these MJDs and also that triple prop mod fit with 4 Ball Cons and what's a Type-D attenuation sig... oh targeting range?

I have no criticism; i kinda wanna try it.

The MWD is mainly just for convenience on missions with lots of gates. You could manage without it but AB is really slow when you want to cover 100km+.

about invulns: you don't get a solid resist boost across the board. what they show you in fittings window is the max possible resist in each category--but max, you would only get one category. Invulns attempt to "adapt" to just one attribute, and adjust slowly, in increments, between them. so if you have a mission that deals two damage types or more, your invulns never give you full resists in any appropriate category.
.

This is untrue. You are perhaps thinking of Reactive Armor Hardeners

A T2 Invuln will give 30% resists to all 4 damage types, subject to stacking penalties as usual for active hardeners.

I endorse the advice to get a Navy Raven: they are insanely good for PvE now.
