Scan strength needed?

Hi there,

Is it *known* out in the universe how much scan strength (of 1 probe) is needed to scan down a 5% signal strength site with 8 probes?

I'd like to know this also. Running an anathema and my sister's probes are just above 100 points, and I've always wondered if this is overkill.
