This is the message I get whenever I try to run EVE. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing but the message is the same. This issue cropped up when I first tried to download Odyssey but out of all the threads about the patch problems I couldn't find one that was similar to my problem. I filed a bug report two weeks ago but it has not been answered to I have come to the forums to see if anyone else has this problem. I have tried running the repair tool and running as administrator, both to no avail. My machine runs windows 7 home premium.

Have you checked the Task Manager to see if another instance is running? Press Ctrl+Shift+Escape and look under the Processes tab. If you see anything that has "updater (32bit)" in it right-click it and press End Task.

I have this same issue, I tried the same steps and also reset local cache... no tasks I can find outside of steam related. Have you figured out how to get it to run??
