Having a Terrible time with an Agent Mission - Introduction to cosmic signatures

I am trying to complete an "Introduction to cosmic signatures".

I have gotten the Core Probe launcher, core scanners and exploration supplies. I have gotten proof of Discovery for an anomaly. I brought it back to where Rulie Isoryn's shop is, but there are not additional instructions.

I have taken the nearest gate to the next area, and there are no instructions. I am at a loss as to how to proceed here? Any advice?

I myself have never done that mission, this guy however has

It's a little on the role-play side, but maybe in that blog you will find the hint you need.

Bumping this as I am in the same boat. Is there really no way to look up previous messages from secondary NPCs? I was told to "move to the next room" but there were several stargates and apparently I took the wrong one. I've now spent the last 2+ hours going in circles trying to find out where I need to be with absolutely no indication from my agent other than "go to the training area and do what they tell you to do". I tried dude, their instructions were just as vague.

Shall I just bring up the map and travel to the 30 closest areas in hopes that it will trigger the secondary NPC? I don't see what other options I have.

I afraid it's been a while since I ran these, however a couple of things to double check:

Did you double check your journal? Often the mission objectives will be explicit and you can double check the system your supposed to be in.

Also, do you have the mission bar in the top left? Telling you what mission your doing? Same thing as the journal, you can double check the mission notes and the place you need to go from there.

If it hasn't changed, and it probably has, the exploration tutorials made you collect various certificates from various sites. If you scanned down the wrong site first, your agent may just look at you dumb, since he is expecting a different certificate.

If this is the case, don't worry. It's common for folk to spend an hour or so scanning down real sigs with no skills before realizing its not the mission sig sometimes.

If you have found Rulie Isoryn all you have to do is follow her instructions, using the acceleration gates to proceed to each successive deadspace pocket (or room, if you prefer, but I can never figure out how there can be rooms in space).

You should be using deadspace acceleration gates (there will be only one at each stage of the mission), not stargates.

Okay that makes sense, that is most likely where I screwed up as I didn't understand the difference between the two. Unfortunately I haven't seen one in hours.

So if the mission says: "Location 0.9 Trossere" and if that is the system where I started, then I never have to leave that solar system and I should have just been taking dead space acceleration gates from anomaly to anomaly within that solar system?

If this is correct is my best bet to just go to as many of these anomaly training sites as possible until I finally stumble onto the one with the acceleration gate? Or are we talking hundreds of possible anomalies here? I'm ready to just quit the tutorial and do something else at this point but it's frustrating as I wanted to learn more about exploring than anything else.

*sigh*

People & Places > Places > bookmark of the place with the gate

I could have sworn I checked that 10x already but I guess not. So I'm finally back where I need to be now, 7 hours later (don't worry I took breaks :p ). Thanks for all the responses everyone. These would be my obligatory noob "Welcome to EVE..." posts I guess.

Top left of the screen should have a heading labelled "agent missions" or similar, it should have links for you to reread the mission brief, and a warp to location link if you're in the correct solar system, the warp to link will take you to the correct start point.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

I just completed it with a lot of experimentation and mistakes.
First, you don't actually do anything in this quest except pick up the scanner launcher and probes and travel through the gates. Get the gear. Use the gate, look around. Use the next gate, look around. Repeat.. Head back. Done.
My first mistake was fitting the module to my ship. That makes it impossible to use the gates.
I dropped probes in the first area, thinking that would be a good idea. I had to pick them up right clicking on their signatures in the space map.
Finally, I went back, unfitted the launcher and put the it in my cargo bay. Used the gates and turned the quest in.
Good luck.

Thread-o-mancy Ugh I am stuck here too but further on the chain. I have 1 of each proof of discovery and the gas passkey but when I return to the mission giver he will not let me complete the mission. I actually did it 2 times to make sure I followed each step but the mission still will not complete.

The data and relic proof of discovery are consumed upon completion of their respective missions. If you went over to fetch new copies of these two items, they're of no use in the gas site.

The gas passkey is handed over by the agent when you accept the last mission, wich is to scan a gas signature and enter the site. To enter the site, you need the passkey in your cargohold, once there, you get a popup window saying you completed the mission and you should return to your agent to complete the mission.

If you have trouble with your agent missions, the best course of action is generally to file a support ticket under the category "Agent Missions in Progress" so that a GM can take a look for you. You can do this by pressing F12 in-game, from the website or by sending an email to support@eveonline.com from the email address registered to your account.

It could be that your mission has become bugged and the agent just needs some gentle persuasion to talk to you again Smile

I haven't taken that mission but I discovered that with any of the missions, right-clicking in space, you'll get the final destination in the drop-down menu. If you've strayed from the chain of locations within your mission objective then it won't appear there. Backtracking and clicking until it appears there again saved me countless hours flying in circles.

Thanks for the responses! Got it figgured out. Apparently the "proof of discoveries" needed to be in my hangar rather than the cargo hold! Shocked
