So that's 3 times I have logged on this week to find no ice in my system in empire with nothing to do i just logged off...

How many canceled accounts will this change cause CCP start being realistic so you aren't surprised in July by how many you lost with this terrible change.

In the future ADD content don't CHANGE content and call it an EXPANSION

Every year now i cringe at expansion time knowing you will screw something else up you know i would be nirvana if you fired everyone at ccp and stop doing them Lol

before you fire everyone please have fan fair with a dunking booth of previously employed ccp devs i would pay money for that Lol

Just saying if i trained up a hulk or 5 and i logged in and there is nothing to do i am not going to stay logged in and pick my ass i am going to go play another game and stop paying you. you should realize this and stop being so naive

maybe failure is in you business model ? don't know

So you're mad that your bacon is not instant anymore? Or are you mad that they changed the way you do things?

CCP have added content, quite a lot of it in fact, but judging by your post you seem somewhat aggrieved by the fact that you cannot log in, set your ship and afk whatever.

Why not go after roids? Diversify my man! Try something different.

If you cringe every time they do an expansion, why are you here? Clearly it doesn't sound like you enjoy the game.

Personally, I don't blame CCP for the concept, ice mining did need a change (even the ice miners could agree on that).

How it was executed, while meanwhile accepting IsBox, is a problem. This change hurts the players who actually play the game, not just bots.

Ice mining is also mining not something new players engage in (takes time to skill for it), and the idea that it's even in high sec due to it is puzzling (want players in low/null, the stuff goes into low/null deal). High sec as CCP thinks of it is a newbie land, and should support those activities -- while keeping the higher SP players out of the zone (so newbies can actually have sites to learn such activities, not have them disappear, because some 100mil SP toon can swallow it faster for easy ISK).

The activity of mining itself could be changed to a mini-game that can't be botted (much like EQII's tradeskill minigame) is an alternative, as anyone actively doing these mundane chores aren't punished, but bots are. Can return back to big ice fields again even.

Hulk was a bad example, they gimped that long ago as an Ice miner.
3 Ice miners, 3 cycles is 9K Ice and they made the Ore bay 8.5 and I'm wagering it was done on purpose.

Nobody logs in to mine Ice, that was the problem. It was being done 23/7 by macro miners. Ice needs to be at 400K to compete with Ore, exception being if you are mining it 23/7.

I did see someone with a legitimate gripe;

Only being able to play at specific hours - logging in to find that the ice belts had spawned and been mined out, and won't regenerate until after you have to logout.

That just sucks, if it's true.

Yeah it's really enjoyable to sit around for hours waiting for a spawn then get maybe 30 minutes to mine until the next round of 3 or 4 hours for the next spawn. It's pretty much 30 or 40 people jump on an ice spawn and clear it within half an hour in my home system. Seriously, eve has become more and more of spending hours doing nothing to get a few minutes of doing something then rinse/repeat for the last year or two.

@ Barakkus

I have to respectfully disagree with that.

EvE seems to be targeting more "active" players. Not those that afk everything and farm. The more active you are, the more content seems to be available and rewarding for you.

Even if you have a few hours, you can run plexes or piracy, level 4s or 5s. There is a lot of active content. CCP seems to be pushing hard to get away from people that afk. How many people that actually play and participate actively have you seen whine? I count very few.

All i read about are miners that used to afk that cannot do it now and are angry. If this helps against botting and rewards players that actually play, then i'm all for it.

This. One of the points is that you have to look around, not sit comfortably forever in one system. Do some research and find out where there's another system that spawns ice belts near you.

No, I completely disagree. I've pretty much just decided this is skill training online for me at this point because I got tired of sitting around for 5 hours, jumping systems looking for fights with friends to get maybe 1 or 2 good fights that last like 1-2 minutes. There's no fun in pvp, I don't like blob warfare, and I don't want to do FW b/c I like being able to travel through all the empires without being shot. I have no interest in null...and I have no interest in living in LS exclusively, it's a wasteland anyways. Either you run into a giant blob, or everyone runs if they don't severely outnumber you anymore. Most of the changes CCP has made over the last year and a half have really killed it for the casual player and small gang pvp. This is even more of a **** you to the casual player who can't devote their entire life to playing EVE. At least I could afford to fuel a tower with passively mining when I needed to, hell I didn't even make any money off it...(or my tower)...

Also, this is pretty much why many players have traditionally considered ice miners to be fairly detestable.

Your complaint is basically that, instead of sitting in an ice belt afk, you might have to actually... interact with the game. Shocked

2500 blocks at around 1 minute per block ( Skiff pulls it down in 55 seconds, without maxed skills. A hulk would take three times as long, but get 3 blocks. You can get it a bit faster, but I doubt you can get it to 30 seconds a block, which is what you'd need for the numbers you just quoted.)

That's 2500 man/minutes.

Or around an hour for 40 people to clear, ignoring the time to dump ore in the station.

It's more like...

...trying to do something else?

I mean, with so much things to do in Eve, and ppl complain about quitting because they cannot achieve anything full/semi-afk now? Seriously, I don't think the market is going to crash with all afk miners gone right? Eve's a healthier game ever without afk players who ruin the market and effort of the active playing players.

I've been attempting to mine with an alt for the last day or two, and I get maybe 2 loads with a mackinaw then the spawn is empty. It's pretty ******** honestly. And the majority of the reason is a couple corps come in, they all divvy up which roids to focus on, mine them out within the time it takes me to do one load, then I have to fly to the next roid in a damn mackinaw...unless I can get a mwd on it, it's killing the actual amount of time I can spend mining, I sit there watching him slowly pull in range of a roid, get 1 or 2 cycles, then the roid pops, rinse, repeat...it's just dumb and completely pointless now....

Wow, guy, negative much?
Seems like you are saying that you only played EVE to mine ice/make isk. On that note, have you looked at playing the markets? I hear you can make lots of isk with little time investment, if you know what you're doing.

Alternatively, I guess you could quit. vOv
