The new Talos, New webbing drones, and you.

So..... CCP took away the webbing bonus from the new Gallente BC the Talos.
Now the question is will the Talos be the first Sub-Cap Gallente boat to not have a drone bay.

The Talos should have a drone bay (all be it a small one) and should be able to fit a full flight of Med drones.
This brings me to the new Web Drones rummered to be released.

Would be nice to use the web drones as a tactical advantage and with only one flight available to this ship. poping said drones would prove to be a tactical balance to them while limiting the DPS from drones.

Talos + Med Web Drones = Win?

Why pre-nerf?

Did you just make this stuff up?

For starters there are already Gallente ships without a dronebay.

I might be wrong, but I'm sure every Tech 1 Gallente boat has drones.

Allowing 1 flight of drones even if just used for web drones won't make or break a ship. Unless its a ship built around drones(Ishtar, Dominix, Vexor, Myrm, etc) , drones are nothing more then a small bonus.

If we're getting medium web drones, whoopty frackin doo. Their useful range is still limited to your disruptor/scram range. And since most drone boats are lacking DPS using guns, it's still a sub-par ship. But, I'll hold out for when the Talos is finalized though I don't think this would necessarily be a plus for the Talos given it's tanking ability.

Honestly, I've used web drones once and that was while missioning with a Mega using 2 large web drones and the rest dps drone. I can't think of a PVP situation where web drones would be more useful than say.....ECM drones or DPS drones.

Drop 5 high slots, all turrets add 25 drone bandwidth to it and a 125 m³ drone bay. Then drop the hybrid bonus and add 10% damage/hitpoints bonus and a 5km drone control range bonus, role bonus -80% bandwidth use for heavy and sentry drones.

That's about the only valid method of adding drones to the Talos.

I tryed to fit one for fleet.. with passive tank.. but .. gave up

You don't fit a tank to this ship. You fit it much in the same way you fit a gank brutix IMHO. The issue that i see is that it's hard to get full damage from the guns on to a target w/out webs.

Whats the point of having face melting damage if you will never be able to use it.

Tactically speaking. I see using web drones as an engagement starter, MWD/after-burn into optimal and keep web drones on while continuing slug fest with said BS or BC ship. With little Fitting room you are reduced to an 800mm plate if you go full gank. The issue with that is that if you do. most of your damage from your guns will not be applied as compared to the superior tracking of say auto cannons. I understand that the new BC's are supposed to be all gank and no tank however, in the Talos' case its fangs are filed down due to the issue with the damage from the guns being applied.

The talos is supposed to be a gank ship.

IIRC most haulers and mining barges dont move.

Next - if you do 2x tracking comps in the mids and a target painter , you will hit everything but mwd / ab frigates. GALLENTE DONT NEED ANOTHER DRONE BOAT. If you want a great drone boat go fit an ishtar. Anyway fitting it for sniper works nicely and most of these new ships are going to be used for suicide ganking or pos bashing.

Why Can't I have a picture signature.

Also please support graphical immersion, bring back the art that brought people to EvE online originaly.

By going 2 tracking comps and a TP (which my I add are another Minmatar bonus-ed module *shake fist*) You are screwed if you go shield fit (like you can with the brutix)

I'm not saying to turn this thing into a mini Domi. I'm saying put 50m3 drone bay in it with 50 Mbit/sec for bandwidth (assuming that Med Web Drones will have these specs).

Also, I agree. we don't need another drone boat.

Keep in mind that web drones affect a stacking-penalized ship attribute.

As it is right now, using a flight of 5 heavy web drones reduces target speed to roughly 38%; only slightly better than a T2 web.

1 heavy web drone: 70%
2 heavy web drones: 52%
3 heavy web drones: 43%
4 heavy web drones: 39%
5 heavy web drones: 38%

And this is for heavy web drones. If smaller ones are released, they're bound to be weaker. It makes little sense to use the heavy ones at the moment, especially more than 2-3 at a time. We'll see how things change.

What I'd like to see for the Talos:

- 10% hull hitpoints per level
- 10% to scram range per level
