Navy Brutix vs Astarte?

In their current incarnation, field command ships have no boost bonus, they're basically all out combat ships that can run a link if desired (though a neut/nos/smartbomb) would be preferable.

So... now that we have Navy BCs, how do they stack up?

CS have better resists and probably more tank overall dps is similar but CS probably still win in some cases.
also CS still have to be rebalanced

Why the **** is ongoing ship rebalancing so damn hard to understand?

After the patch we're giving the market some gentle supply restriction, like tying one wrist to the bedpost loosely with soft silk rope. Just enough to make things a bit more exciting for the market, not enough to make a safeword necessary.  -Fozzie

Yes, rebalance is on going... but it could be a year before CS get rebalanced... so in the meantime... when one wants to drop about 200 mill on a BC hull for combat... is there 1 clear winner?

Yes, I know, the T2 resists are pretty sweet, Amarr omni armor tank, Minmatar omni shield tanks, and Gal/cal tanks with only 1 hole in their shield/armor)

But.... the buffer on those Navy BCs is pretty darn high

I have an alt that flys both ships. If you want the honest truth I still prefer the Astarte over the Navy Brutix. The main difference between the two is turret hard points. You get a sweet bonus on the Navy edition with but its still 6 turrets vs 7 turrets. So you get about even damage output. The differences start to show themselves when you get into armor though. The higher resists on my astarte means that after the sheilds blown I can maintain it better. That ontop of the bonus to my armor rep means it has far better sustain. The Navy Brutix is a little faster but Astarte also gets a tracking bonus so we can null that out. The navy can do pretty decent sustain with an extra low slot but it also has a much lower capacitor and recharge rate so keep that in mind. Where it gets iffy is the hull. The navy has about 3000 more hull points than the astarte which means it'll take me about 5-6 seconds more to pop if he's repping hard. Still for the armor sustain as well as the extra turret, tracking speed, and improved cap i take the astarte.

this is what's known in Britain as "Chav" language.

Loosely translated it means:

Things have changed, rebalancing is hard because everything is so different isn't it.

All told, the field command ships still have a pretty clear edge. In this case, the astarte has the T2 resists, more dps, the falloff bonus, AND retains the normal brutix's tank bonus.
