Is this a bug, an over-site, or the way it's supposed to work?

Quote:
Poteque 'Prospector' Environmental Analysis EY-1005

A neural Interface upgrade that boosts the pilot's skill at environmental analysis.

5% reduction in cycle time of salvage, hacking and archaeology modules.

Is this going to be changed like the:
Quote:
Poteque 'Prospector' Archaeology AC-905
A neural Interface upgrade that boosts the pilots exploration skills.

+5 Virus Coherence when accessing archaeology containers.

And

Quote:
Poteque 'Prospector' Hacking HC-905
A neural Interface upgrade that boosts the pilots exploration skills.

+5 Virus Coherence when accessing hacking containers.

Otherwise it's quite useless in my head! :D

EDIT:
As of 7/24/2013, the implant was changed to:
Quote:

Poteque 'Prospector' Environmental Analysis EY-1005
A neural interface upgrade that boosts the pilot's skill at environmental analysis and increases the decay time of scattered containers in exploration sites.

5% reduction in cycle time of salvage, hacking and archaeology modules.

5 second increase to decay time of all scattered containers.

It is quite useless in your head right now...i'm guessing it is an oversight on ccp's part or they just dont have a new use for it atm. Might change later on though...

It is still useful for salvagers, but I agree that is an oversight on CCP's part.

CCP should add more NPC 0.0 space to open it up and liven things up: the Stepping Stones project.

Could someone please move this to the Bug forum then? I would have posted there, but I wasnt sure if because of the salv bonus if it was actually a mistake :)

I have it in my salvagers head. So...dont mess with it unless you replace cycle time with more salvager bonus; sometimes 85% just isnt enough for him.

I give this a bump. The Implant wasn't updated in today's minor patch.

Dont worry about the salvaging bonus, it would be more like

Quote:
5% Bonus to Salvager Cycle Time
+5 Virus Coherence when accessing hacking containers.
+5 Virus Coherence when accessing archaeology containers.

Would be also cool to get this Implant change to +5 Strength instead of coherence. It wouldn't be too' overpowerd' as the 10th slot is usually a very valuable one.

I'm personally taking care of this issue. Just bring yourself out to low sec and get in line. I'm bound to get to you sooner or later.
I will remove these useless plugs from the game 1 pod at a time...2 at a time if you get really close to each other.

You should try the proper channels and write a bug report in-game with the bug report tool.

Loss is meaningful. Therefore is the loss of meaning likewise meaningful. It is the source of all trolling.

"Useless plugs"? Are you intentionally demeaning or otherwise insulting the folically-impaired gamers here? That's not only kinda sorta racist, but just plain mean. Shame... SHAME!!

"Bug" is CCP-ese for "ooops"... changing an item description is almost as low of a priority to them as fixing Faction Warfare.

But it wouldn't just be the item description... it is the actual stats

No, we do not and the judge of all things concerning EVE still is CCP. So no matter how you twist it will you have to report it as a bug and then have CCP tell you what it really is.

Do you think it is a bug?

I'd like to think it was an oversite.

As long as there isn't some form of punishment for submitting "false" bug reports (in the event that it is not a bug), I could post it. Honestly I never have submitted one before.

I guess I just figured that CCP may read their forums... guess not as much as I thought anyhow lol.

No. They have extra people just for handling the bug reports. Once you wrote a report will it take a few days until you see some of the staff take actions. It is then either attached to an already existing report or you get an explanation like the almighty "working as intended"-explanation. So even when you get it confirmed as a bug may it still take a while before it gets fixed, because there are many small bugs and they will likely give each a priority before they get passed on to the different teams.

Follow each step of the report, it even has a screenshot tool where you can mark stuff in the screenshot to make things clearer, and make full use of it. They have given us this tool for a good reason: it lets us help them to make EVE better. Cool

Im gunna bump this to the top.

Today, I showed info no this implant again. Now it says:

Quote:
A neural interface upgrade that boosts the pilot's skill at environmental analysis and increases the decay time of scattered containers in exploration sites.

5% reduction in cycle time of salvage, hacking and archaeology modules.

5 second increase to decay time of all scattered containers.

....."5 second increase to decay time of all scattered containers."

Hmmm... I didn't see that in any patch notes... even though I was checking for it... hmm.
