I've decided to learn about the new exploration system and went to a career agent. Nope, won't give me a mission.

Just in case I've missed something, I went even further back to starting system and spoke to aura. Completed the tutorial and as a final step I was sent to career agents again. Nope, they still don't want to talk to me.

Am I missing something?

How old is your char? Is it possible you did them before and forgot?

What Chi'Nane said, plus: try going to a different empire's career agents.

Rather old I'd say, I definitely did those career missions before.

Other empire or just other starting system? For RP reason I wanted to do those missions for University of Caille.

Each of the three schools in the four empires has its own career agents. So if, for RP reasons, you want to stay in frog Gallente space you could go to the other two schools and run their agents, provided you haven't run those yet. Otherwise you'll have to try different empires. RP-wise that would make slave Minmatar space the next best choice.

So there's a built-in limitation that each career agent can be used only once, no reset timer of some kind.

Yes. Theyre like COSMOS agents in that regard.
