For the love of The State, Drake Navy Issue needs more CPU!

Faction boats have always been known for being newb friendly. Better than their T1 hulls in both DPS and EHP, almost as good as a T2 hull but with less skills requirements and with plenty CPU/Powergrid being easy to fit even without skills like Electronics or Engineering at L5.

The new Drake Navy Issue has less DPS than the T1 hull, less EHP than the T1 hull, minus 1 high utility slot than the T1 hull, eats more missile and it's less cap stable than the T1 hull.
(And how the hell a T1 Drake with 20% native resists has a better EHP than a Drake Navy Issue + 1 invul aka 30% bonus resists I can't really understand.)

As if that wasn't enough, now I see I can't even use the same fit I have on my T1 Drake on my Drake Navy Issue. With the extra launchers the Drake Navy Issue practically has less CPU than the Drake.

Yo, New Eden, got capsuleers in da house. What's up? And their pimped rides. Yo, capsuleer, if ya want me to unpimp your ride, lemme hear ya say Wat?

It's called ship rebalancing.

They haven't gotten to all the faction ships yet, but i'm sure we'll see a similar behavior.

The navy drake isn't meant as a direct upgrade from the drake, it's a sidegrade. Which should be the case with all navy gear. It allows you to take a ship you can fly and fly it differently. The navy drake is a frig eater. Perfect buddy to have with you on a small gang, as he'll have just enough tank to hold his own, and allot of dps to smash frigs.

The drake has been OP for far to long, the drake IS getting hit hard. Although... 8 launcher on a drake is nuts. with that bonus, this thing is going to make flying a frig agaisn't one a nightmare.

This is not the Forum you are looking for! You are looking for the Official Odyssey Feedback Forum

EDIT: I do love the title though!

Maybe you should look at the bonuses and stats of the navy drake, and then think of a fitting for it, then try fitting it, then try tweaking it, and then don't rant on the forums about it because it's going to be un-*******-believable strong.

Hint: It won't be flown like a normal Drake. Except for the part where it fires missiles and tanks (mostly) on shield. But the rest is going to be very different

Its not on battle clinic yet so I can't run it through my fitting manager, but so far I don't see what your saying about it being less tank and DPS. Maybe less raw DPS but the bonuses mean it should hit smaller targets with more actual DPS...hopefully. So far it's been great solo'ing level 3's.

This is my first mainly-PVE toon, but I've been PVP'ing off and on since '07, so don't take this as a completely noob comment: but this navy drake is AWESOME!

I don't see how you can get less tank...I fit the tank exactly the same as my normal drake: LSE, 2x adapt Invuln fields, 2x painters, damage control, along with 3x BCS2's int the lows. With the Navy drake, I can upgrade all those to the T2 versions and they all fit! Even with 3x T2 damage mods in the lows (BCS). This is with meta 4 launchers since this toons pretty new. But then on top of that, add another launcher.

I won't be sure until I run some fits in a fitting manager, but so far it seems better than the normal drake in every way...

Is it worth the isk? Not unless you really, really like flying drakes...price should drop eventually tho...

Edit: forgot to mention, I'm using PG and CPU implants...but this is a really low SP toon.
