Hey all. I'm trying to get the hack of the new scan system. Having a lot of fun so far, but I'm wondering if anyone else has figured out, accurately, what the loot tiers of cans are?

I can tell you already that Scrap is **** tier, and, Parts containers seem to be the best.

My question is where do Materials, Data, and Equipment containers fit into the mix?

My best estimate, so far, is like this:

Parts
Materials
Data
Equipment
Scraps

But I'm still testing and haven't quite gotten an accurate readout yet. Anyone else managed to figure out the middle cans any better?

using a cargo scanner i can pick and choose the cans that pop out from the spew (ie data sites have those fancy purple disks and fall under the parts spew can). Relic sites seem to be more material based (used to be the salvaging ones) spew cans having the best items. Also note if you see a flashy / pricey blueprint, those fall under the data spew cans. the only one i am not sure off is the equipment cans (which maybe the odd time you see a module in the profession site) and scraps i have seen nothing but ... scraps. Pretty much always carry a cargo scanner to preview the sites and have the new rigs and mid slot fit for the best chance at hacking.

What do you mean? Do you target the container before you hack it, and it tells you what's in it, so you know if you want to aim for a specific type of can to get that special item?

Exactly :D there is alot of info around about which cans hold which items but essentially decrypters (the best isk wise for data sites) are in part spew cans and blueprints are in data spew cans. In the other site, relic, material and part spew cans hold the t2 salvage you can see when you cargo scan.
