The radial menus are extremely clunky and annoying, please give us the option to remove the radial menu on left click option.

A great example here is the new scan menu. Before it took one click to bring up dscan, now it's two. I hate radials for lots of reasons but it's insane not only do they introduce them but then make them take MORE clicks.

The dynamic "warp to within", and everything regarding range with the new radial is beyond extremely usable compared to what we had to work with before

while (CurrentSelectedTarget.Status == ShipStatus.Alive) {

MMO players are among some of the most change-resistant people in the world. They're also the hardest to please. They want something fixed, but if you fix it they'll complain that you fixed it wrong. They want new and innovative content, but they don't want it to actually change anything or be different from what they're used to. They don't want you to spoonfeed them information because then it makes them feel insulted as if you think they're stupid, but if you don't spoonfeed them (and sometimes even if you do) they have no idea what's going on or how anything works and don't check the configuration options before making complaints.

I would hate to be a game dev.

Anyway, the radial menu's very nice and much smoother than it was to begin with. People will cry their furious petulant tears for a while and they'll gnash their teeth and flail their limbs about, but then they'll accept that it's not going anywhere and they'll discover the old radial menu is permanently gone. Then they'll decide maybe it's time to try out that new one and they'll get used to it after discovering how terrible it's not. A lot of the complaints mostly come from people who just need to increase the delay a bit.

While I guffawed at this little speech I think you need to realise that sometimes new\improved isn't always the case. People make valid points and in some cases options should be available e.g. turning off the "Cam Pan" on jumping to prevent the feeling of overwhelming travel sickness.

While true that new doesn't always equal improved (loot spew mechanic, anyone?), around here it seems that new always equals terrible simply because it's new.

As for turning off the camera pan after a jump, I'm really really getting tired of saying fifteen times a day "You can turn off the tracking camera and it won't pan".

On the other hand, the camera pans to the next stargate in your route when Autopilot is active (not so safe on TQ but you can use it all the time on SiSi) and that effect is pretty cool. It would be a bit cooler if you started warping to the next gate a little sooner, as right now the camera pans immediately toward the next gate and then there's a pause for a while before you auto-warp, but it's not bad as-is.

The core problem of the camera movement and warp tunnel stuff on gatejump is "simulation sickness", not that it's new or bad looking at all:

I was able to do a few jumps yesterday before I needed a break. Closing my eyes on every jump is _not_ an option Blink

I'm pretty resistant to change myself, but in this case the radial menus have a couple of serious design flaws.
#1 No matter how far away from where the menu was spawned you move your cursor the menu doesn't despawn. This means that if you spawn a radial menu you'll select something from it even if you move the cursor completely outside of the game window.

#2 If the cursors is not over the radial menu it "locks" the last selection in place no matter where the cursor is. If you move the cursor too fast, leave the boundary of the radial menu, but otherwise have it in the arc for "warp to" but the last thing that the cursor was over on the menu was "info" the game's going to open up an info window instead of warping you to something.

Honestly, I didn't like having a menu pop up if you tried to micro-move the camera with a left-click before, and I like a radial menu that pops up, takes up more critical view space, and doesn't even work well replacing it even less. I've been playing the game for the better part of over seven years now and I've never actually needed the left-click menu. Based on that I don't expect that I'll ever actually need the radial menu in the next seven years and would support an option to completely disable it.

While setting the delay to Long and the open button to something you don't use can significantly reduce the chances of accidentally opening a radial menu the fact remains that that does not actually disable the radial menu.Having either an option for "None" in the "Open Radial Menu With:" section or a "Never" option to the left of "None" in the delay would do that.

Just set the delay to "Long", set the menu to a button you never use and consider the matter solved.

Even better (for me anyway) ESC > General Settings > Help Section > 'Open Radial Menu With:' MIDDLE MOUSE BUTTON

Solved for me as never in 9.5 years of playing have I used a Radial Menu.
