WH mining

Hey CCP devs, did you put any thought at all into the fact that you just completely screwed WH miners? Seriously, they have no local, so d-scan was the line of defense from incoming ships or probes. Now they don't even get that for a line of defense. Pure suicide now to mine in a WH. Was this the intended result, or is this just kind of overlooked and will be fixed? This "expansion" is really turning out to be very disappointing after all the hype. Some really good ideas/improvements, some really stupid ones. I'm still not sure which side outweighs the other.

Edit: The post sounds confrontational to start, but that's not my intent. I'm really looking for an answer.

Ya it kinda does. I'm just not happy and I'm not gonna give them a unicorns and rainbows version when they're sticking it to the miners with cold sandpaper. The miners really got F'd on this one. And I'm not against PVP or anything, I just think the miners should get a fair chance to escape instead of the hunters getting easy mode.

Seriously?

Before you even decide to mine, you should have scanned down all the sigs and established that there are currently no incoming wormholes. If they are, close them. Then, roll your static, scan the new wormhole and don't warp to it. There you go, you have a locked down and secure wormhole.

Now, keep an active probe out and scan for new sigs as often as you would spam dscan. See a new sig, warp to your POS then scan it down to see if its a new wormhole or just another gas/radar/mag site.

It's nothing new to what you should have been doing before the expansion.

It's an issue of learning how to deal with the enviroment, if you can't handle the enviroment, move somewhere that you can handle, I'd recommend high sec.

Grav sites are still more than doable if you just pay attention to newly spawning incoming holes (the new overlay or probe pickets help with this) as well as dscan. Additionally mining in ventures makes you almost completely safe since your align time will be simply too fast for stuff to point you and you still have enough time to warp out when stuff appears on grid, before they can lock a thing. All that it means is that you can't be afk and you have to pay attention, if you don't want to do either, my recommendation stands; stay in high sec. Seriously.

It's actually safer than before as you don't need probes to warn you about a new signature spawning.

Scan your system to check if it's safe > ignore current sigs > start mining > turn your sound up > go read a book

While this is mostly true and correct. You can just have your scanner overlay running and the scanner window open. It will almost immediately show there's a new Sig in system without a probe out.

I dare say that it's even safer than it was 2 days ago.

Wormhole space is now safer than before for those who pay attention, and more dangerous than before for those who do not.

I fail to see the problem.
