No you can't get 8 standing with all factions. You do things to get Caldari up your Gallente standing falls. So sady you can't do it.

Possibly, in a certain amount of decades repeating the epic arcs.

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

8 all empire factions should be possible, but extremely time consuming and requires an enormous amount of patience and attention.

This includes said plan, but I don't think anyone bothers with that.

Basically you have to run a lot of missions for all factions, decline all faction kill missions and balance it out. Every faction mission gives 100% gain (of the specified amount) to the faction the mission is for, about 50-60% to the associated faction and about -50% to the opposing faction and 50% of the associated faction (first one) as minus to the associated opposing faction.

As an example: A mission gives +1% to Gallente and therefore +0,6% to Minmatar, this leads to a loss of -0,5% to Caldari and -0,3% to Amarr. Total gain is 1,6%, total loss only 0,8%. You continue doing your cycle and after a few years you get 8 all empire standings.

It is possible to get all your reps high, just time consuming.

Its all about balance.

Every time you get a storyline mission the positive is higher than the negative, so you just need to run missions for opposing factions till they even out. IE: Minmatar & Amarr or Gallente & Caldari.

Running the Epic Arcs will speed this along as they give a high standing boost to a standing w/ zero loss to the others.

So basically...

1. Get your Social & Connection skills to 5.
2. Find 2 corporations of opposing factions which have l4 agents close to each other.
3. Never ever accept faction kill missions, as they will give you negative w/ no positive.
4. Run missions with faction A (Amarr or Caldari) till you get one of your factions to 5, or to 0.
5. Run missions with opposing faction B (Minmatar or Gallente) till you get one of your factions to 5, or 0.
6. Supplement factions w/ the epic arcs every 3 months.
7. Repeat step 4 & 5 (6 when possible) over and over and over and over and over again....

Its kind of a grind, but if your going to be running missions anyway, it doesn't really matter.

One thing to keep in mind: When you get a major faction to 5, you can do L4s with any corporation of that faction. Its a good time to grind up some rep with them if you want to change who your running missions for.

Now about "THAT" plan....
The Cosmos agents give huge boost to your faction, but you also take a huge whack to the others. As long as you repair them (with the above method) before moving on with the next Cosmos mission, they should help you achieve your goal.

edit: added step 7 =)

It's possible by repeating only the epic arcs. I'm already working on it. A few more years and I'll be there :D

NO, the highest possible simultaneous standing with all 4 main Factions is 6 and that requires Connections 5. I used to have the topic BM'd but somehow I lost it and my internet judo is weak, this is the best I can locate right now. Essentially due to the -5 standing between the opposing Factions it's mathematically impossible even if you did it for 10 years and NEVER killed any of the main 4's NPC ships, etc. If you were to raise any of 4 above 6 it would directly and negatively effect it's sworn enemy.

Minmatar -> (-5) Amarr
Gallente -> (-5) Caldari

Amarr -> (-2) Gallente
Caldari -> (-2) Minmatar

So (and I can confirm this to be true, the graph also shows it) if you achieved +10 with Minmatar, you'd be +5 with Amarr with Connections 5. You could in theory raise two Factions above 6 but it would harm both of the other two, just at a different rate as one is only (-2) versus the (-5) for the other.

The Operative: "There are a lot of innocent people being killed in the air right now".

Capt. Malcolm Reynolds: "You have no idea how true that is".

^ This.

There are opposing points of view in this thread, but the above post is accurate and really excellent advice. There are others who believe it's not possible and state why they believe so (they are mostly right about the game mechanics part but they are wrong about it being impossible.) The key is balance and patience. Two primary keywords for Eve, really.

This isn't quite right. Last time I checked a standing gain was calculated by reducing max standing (10) by your current standing and then applyine the percentage to the outcome while a standing loss was applying the percentage directly to your current standing. So where your standing gains get lower and lower as your standing increases while your losses will get bigger.

So with standings of opposite factions being -5 means that for any standing increase there will be a standing decrease to the other faction for halve of it. Going from a starting standing of 7 and a standing gains of 10% this would mean that you would gain 0.3 standing (10-7)*10%, while you would lose 0.35 standing with the opposite faction 7*5%

Not exactly sure how it works, I just know you can get them all high =)

Here's my tracking data...

Yellow highlights = the faction I was doing the story line for.
Green = The highest gain, Red = the highest loss

The reps on the left are un-modified.
The numbers on the right are the adjustments made after turning in each storyline.
