[[ FIX ]] Launcher Validating Client 0.0% Issue

Hello just a quick rewrite with the assistance of others we have discovered what is causing this issue and how to fix it.

The issue is caused by Spybot Search & Destroy, you need to disable to Proxy that Spybot S&D uses by default.

Instruction on how to disable Spybot's Proxy can be found here...

Alternatively you can also just uninstall Spybot Search and Destroy.

I was about to take a look at it but the defect ID you provided seems to be wrong. Could you please provide me the correct one? :-)

POSSIBLE SOLUTION WHICH WORKED FOR FEW OF US:
Uninstall spybot if you have it, or maybe just disable his proxy

This appears to be a problem downloading the patch data, the information downloaded appears to be corrupted. What kind of a network connection are you on? Are you using a proxy?

Yup, that worked, thanks. And it seems to be the same problem Tara Tyrael has. Same questions to you: What kind of network connection are you on? Are you using a proxy?

no proxy, wireless to adsl router to internet, found at least 4 guys till now with same problem

edit:
To clarify
Laptop ---- wireless ----> adsl router ---> internet (IPv4)

Everything out of the box, no additional software, no proxy, just wireless drives for my hardware, router is set to 24/7 connection, so my connection here shouldn't be any issue of what so ever

I am connected a my router on generic broadband provided by Sky, connected via a wired connection, I don't run any kind of Provy, the only network related software I run is Hamachi LogMeIn but that isn't connected or associated with my eve client in any way.

edit: closed off Hamachi to check, still encountering the issue

edit2: Just to note, I was having this problem while the new launcher was on Singularity, however I was still able to log into and patch Tranquility fine using the previous launcher that was active on TQ.

I have the same problem..it froze at validating client and no updates have started

Right, I'm checking if maybe one of the machines on the CDN got a bad payload. In general, though, it wouldn't hurt to retry it once or twice using the launcher, sometimes this might just be a hiccup somewhere on the internet.

Saying you have the problem doesn't do much to help CCP investigate and fix, you should also post any associated logs you have, and based on what me and Tara where asked, what kind of connection are you using and are you using any Proxy.

I tried everything, the launcher, evefile.exe, eve.exe, repairtool..all the same thing

I've been having this problem for a week and a half, initially on Singularity, this isn't just a the past hour thing, the bug report submitted was submitted prior to Obyssey being released on TQ, however I will keep loading the launcher just incase. Just leads me not to think it's a momentary issue.

edit: Just a note, if I load up the client vs exefile.exe, it tried to download a 23.18mb patch, then closes and say's downloading launcher update, then once that is all complete, it reopens the launcher, and gets hung on Validating Client again, so I seem to be able to download atleast somewhat from the servers.

the initial problem in launcher is that it hangs at validation, prior to downloading any patch

I don't use Proxy, and my connection is: PC--> router--> provided by UPC...had this problem on the last launcher update but it solved itself..same as then..i tried repairing it but without results

Validation not kicking in. Tried clear cache, reset and other pieces of advice. Ran repair tool it fails Pastebin Connection is PC-Router-Internet on ADSL no proxy.

FYI: This appears to be a bad payload on one of the CDN machines. We are resolving this issue now, you should be able to try again within the hour. If the problem persists at that point in time we'll need to take another look.

Has anyone had an issue with starting the new update... Not responding - cant launch eve. win 7 - restarted computer. used the Eve repair tool and still unable to start... any help?

hmm, not sure how you have that configured, but if you take one of them down, won't the other machines take over so we get faster fix then one hour, you know the customer care and response time and similar bonus points
