I wish for one week those of you who are complaining and bitching would have to suffer through a major update, suffer through the hours of hours looking at code, testing code, reading over and over and interacting with your peers just to make sure you got everything as nearly perfect as humanly possible.

Of course perfection does not exist in human experience, we can only strive for perfection as a goal, yet never attain it.

Imagine if you will working at a job where you regularly work overtime to resolve issues your clients and customers have no clue you have resolved before they ever became an issue. Imagine resolving issues before the majority of your customers discover there ever was one, imagine people you do not know, attacking this system you have built over a decade, attempting to bring it down, damage or otherwise cause issues and problems. And then imagine, the very customers you serve, bitching and complaining, without having not even the slightest clue of all the hard work, energy, stress, education, collaboration, preventative maintenance, lost weekends and family time, and on and on and on. Then perhaps, just maybe, you will begin to understand the incredibly difficulties that these people face on a regular basis, and never sung as heroes but by few.

You pay a pittance, an insignificant little tiny amount of the total cost to make this place available to you, to enjoy. And yet you expect so much, demand even more, and in your crass ignorance demand things to be as would please you.

For those of you that understand, and conduct yourself with the grace and dignity that EVE, CCP, and all their employees deserve, I commend you. And many if not most without fully understanding what is involved, I commend you as well. For you, this post is not.

But for those of you with only complaints and not compliments, you disgust me. I hope someone shoots you down like the dogs you are, in high, low, null or wormhole space. Over and over and over again!

Until you know, until you have worked your butt off for ungrateful and unknowing customers that don't really care at all about the human cost of what you are doing, for them, you have no place to talk. You should reserve your posts until you understand how insulting you are in posting what you already have, and if you had a wisp of any intelligence you would realize that you do not know, and should apologize for not knowing and posting on that which you shouldn't.

And imagine how bad it is to go through all that, and then realise that the thing you have spent all that effort and time deploying doesn't actually work properly and is making the game worse for a huge amount of players.
If only there were some sort of test server where changes could be deployed and people could feedback on them and changes could then be crafted to how the actual playerbase plays the game. IF ONLY there were!!!!!!

I totally agree. I am a software developer myself and have experience so much of what you just mentioned. Yet, there is an additional point that has not been discussed properly: quality assurance (QA).

I am under the impression that most of the problems (and the whining) we had in the past were caused by a lacking QA. For example, he launcher being released before it was ready. I am not necessarily talking about the features it provides (or may provide in the future), I am talking about a piece of software that does not terminate when you close it. This is a certain bug that MUST be discovered by a proper QA. In this specific case, people complain for a good reason. However, I am very optimistic that CCP has learned something from this incident, such that this type of problem (and the related whining) can be avoided in the future.

Drones (bandwidth / bay): 125(+25) / 200(+100).
5 Heavies
5 Mediums
5 Lights
Another sub-battleship class Gallente ship that can field a full set of drones. (the Ishtar being the only other one).

This is exactly the type of thing I am speaking of...

If you worked on a major network with hundreds or thousands of connections, for any length of time, you would realize that testing is essential, as CCP does which is obviously the reason for them using test servers.

However, you would also know from experience, that no matter how hard you test any software, that the real problems do not come to light until it goes live, and is fully put to the test by all users.

The EVE system, the marketplace, the ship balancing, all of it is extremely complex. Just try navigating the marketplace. Look at all the third party apps and web sites that have been created to support it in different ways, and even still it's dynamics are barely understood.

When you insist on posting on subjects you cannot even begin to fathom because you obviously do not yet possess the experience or knowledge, you shed light on your own ignorance. Perhaps, maybe, just maybe, if you educate yourself a bit better, and maybe gain some real world experience, your post would shed different light upon you. But until that time, any attempt you make at posting sarcastic condescending remarks about CCP deploying that "thing" as you put it, updates, expansions, etc, will only make painfully obvious for those that do know and understand just how deep your ignorance in this regard goes. I cringe when I read posts like yours, because if you had even the slightest clue you would be embarrassed as I am embarrassed for you. Just ask any professional IS technical field how difficult major software updates are, then ask them how difficult custom proprietary software updates are, don't believe me do your own research. But until you educate yourself far better than you have, you shouldn't comment because you simply just do not possess the knowledge to do so.

You really have no clue, none. Let me say in in another way, you are devoid utterly of any knowledge that you could possibly base your biased selfish and inconsiderate remarks on. In your case it would be better if you said nothing at all and left people to wonder, than to write things like you have and remove all doubt.

I will say it yet again, people like yourself, with your over inflated self righteous indignity utterly disgust me. Grow up, stop acting like a child, it's a game, A GAME, it's not as if this is affecting your ability to feed, shelter and secure your life.

Well apart from the 'Scanning' changes listed,....I will dust of my Sincliar if I want to play Pac-Man, which have added a whole new level of utterly useless entries on the market browser. In the main there seems to be a fair few corrections disguised as New features were CCP is fixing stuff that they did not get right or broke along the past way.

Ice mining, time will tell on that one, but in Null Sec it is doubtful players are going to jump expensive fleets around the place hunting for Ice spawns, rather they will probably just dock up and wait out the four hour timers, along with the launcher problems for multi client mining players the few up's are well swamped by the many downs introduced.

Clone price decreases mean little to nothing when you get into the high SP brackets so why bother with that aspect, better to reduced the timer on Jump Clones to an hour, or removed it so that players could choose an empty or partial implant clone at will for combat rather than risk expensive implants in the wrong scenario, or as more often happens just avoiding the loss in the first place.

Ship balancing has added many new ships and made changes to many others, Ta much for the ISK sink CCP and for the ship load out arguments in the forums, epic.

Tracking enhancers nerfed, good job What?, does that apply to remote tracking enhancers, remote sensor boosters, where was the logic of increasing effective range when you made it almost useless to begin with, boy you really did have the hates for Hubs, cripple the tools and add frigates and jamming too,

Cruise missiles, still not an effective combat weapon,, and will never be, but in the process you have nerfed them dramatically for use in PvE, way to go frigates.

Overall few new items but many huge hidden nerfs in this one, overall interest rating...(-4)

I agreed with your first post, but have to say you're way off target on this one. Adaahh was pointing to the fact that CCP *do* use test servers, but alluding to the view expressed by some that they don't properly listen to the feedback from those who test stuff on the test servers. That's something one might agree with, or disagree with, but it's hardly the kind of self-righteous "haven't a clue" comment you're making it out to be. There are plenty of examples of that in these forums - I can't agree that this was one of them.

I hope I speak for the majority of us when I say that all of you, every single one of you who has put forth so much time, effort and energy have done an amazing job, yet again.

If there were Olympic medals given for the effort you all have put forth recently in order for all of us to be able to play a game we love, you would certainly be going home with the GOLD.

Thank you

I am perfectly aware of the difficulties and obstacles in large IT projects (Granted, my background is more hardware than software) and I have huge admiration for the "Ground troops" that actually do the work to get these "things" deployed and working.
However, i question the management that decides to ignore user (customer) feedback and do it's own thing and then happily tell everyone how they have a test server and CSM because they "Value" the input of their players so much when in fact they ignore everything that doesn't fit in with their own ideas of what is "Correct".
