Been like this for the last couple of years. (maybe longer but I have rose tinted nostolgia of the old forums)
Most of the people saying they will unsub wont bother. It's the general gamer population as a whole has moved towards entitled players who believe everything should be how they want, playing other MMO's doesn't really create this mindset the gaming industry as a whole does now.

CCP wont listen to the minor ones but if enough noise is made or they get a bad press article (or fear it could happen) they tend to bump things up in priority or being looked at (at least that's how it seems from my past experience).

Its a tricky one. Eve players by their nature tend be very whingy and think they are special snowflakes because they play Eve yet yeah, I would say it has gotten worse, especially over the last say 12 months.

I like how you assume EVE is better than everything else out there. News flash it is a MMO it has its share of problems, also EVE isn't the only game with a tight knit unique community. Having played quite a few MMO's before EVE, notibly EQ, SWG, D1, D2, ETC. I can tell you right now it has its good and bad aspects. That is what makes it great honestly. And so WOW, and every other MMO share this with EVE. UPs and DOWNs. Don't get your jimmies rustled just because everyone can't handle uncontrolled circumstances and loss the same way you do. Or you can stoop to their level and attack a large group of people who have about as much say in it as you do.

Also, from the facebook comments during the DDOS I can assure you most of the people wanting free SP were actually middle aged men. Not the teenagers you hate for some misplaced reason. Don't forget you are either still growing up or had gone through it at some point to. It's no better than sexism, bigotry, or stereotypes, to disrespect the younger part of the community.

P.S. I have also played WOW and was playing wow before I started up eve in 2006. 90% of the people I played with were mid 30's. Stop assuming, this is why CCP doesn't allow rant threads.

not mad just dissapointed with the eve community how much it has changed i only stopped playing for 6 months or so and the community has changed so much its sad.

It's natural for people to behave surprised and aggressive when a drastic change comes... A natural reaction to CCP making Game Changing decisions, especially of which i was concerned about when i was quoted by a DEV that they can't interfere with the game mechanics.

Apparently CCP said its their game and they'll change it up when they feel like it, we must enjoy something exclusively unique with such a game as eve online, I think its great that they are changing the game it'll make it more interesting and keep people playing it, is it not for the older players that the eve changes are taking place? newer players will never notice the difference, it'll be the same as we experienced it when dominion released which is when i started - or even incursion, retribution, and the most recent and most exciting odyssey.

The game will change all the time, ccp are extremely far from coming to a solid conclusion, there will be still balances to come aswell as new ships, modules, ideas, game play...

However it is natural for people to whine about changes, especially if it means it changes their routine's, people don't like change, i bet not one person would want to go back to dominion, odyssey has had the most impact and most amount of changes to eve than ever before and after odyssey launches i'm sure everyone will love it, whoever doesn't like it and doesn't want to play after the changes then maybe this isn't your type of game, it's a great coincidence that ccp is releasing the new latest expansion today as 10-30 days ago or even before they changed BC's and frigates, i got bored of eve cause nothing was changing and there wasn't anything new, i explored almost everything in the game and was reaching an end to exploration, now there will be a drastic change and tonnes of new possibilities to explore, for that i thank ccp for providing such an excellent unique game and the changes as a reward for my subscription.

Kinda weird you should say that, OP, because from what I hear the Goons have begun an invasion of WoW.
Maybe the Goons are the reason WoW players are coming to EvE? Most of them probably didn't even know about EvE until then?
