You will get something: "We will be looking at ways to compensate players in both EVE and DUST for the outage and expect to announce what that compensation will be very soon."

If ccp can implement measures to safegaurd further ddos attacks then all the better. No compensation is really needed as it was npt thier fault, even though it was rather long downtime. Compared to many years ago downtime is nothing .

Downtime is the same as it is every day. Should not be a surprise to you. Free PLEX though? Really?

One of my accounts ran out subscription during this time annoys me that i have to put in a dang ticket so i can plex it... who knows how long that'll take and i'm more surprised that they kept our subscriptions going even though the game was offline wtf?

ever hear of hours for plex to reactivate your account? might be something to google before crying on a forum. This downtime was caused by an external threat, they responded and the servers were back up within 12 hours. No compensation is required but most would cry and throw a **** fit if compensation was not received. Kudos ccp for the swift response, most don't understand what it takes to mitigate a ddos attack. Only thing is, the defense of NOL will be harder to coordinate.

I'm afraid you've been victimized by your own ability in not reading any of the very lately presented news.

CCP has apologized. They also told us that they have a form of compensation scedualed, but still have to decide on what it will be. Being DDOS'd is crap, the best solution in most cases to protect a multi-million project is just to cut the hardline and wait until it's over. DDOS protection is nothing more than cutting the line when being flooded with requests. A reroute can take place, but is again vulnerable for attack resulting in the same situation.

We can only sit through it and hope it will pass. The past month numerous gameservers have been under attack. Check Google and search for the news related to that.

There's some people around that want to steal your money, you might want to pick the right side.

I'm a pretty new face on the scene (2.5 Mil SP) but I've been really pleased with CCP's response on this. The choice to shut the system down until the breach method/location had been identified and fixed was a mature one. No client information was lost and that is probably the most important thing. I'd have liked to play this weekend but it was a good kick in the rear to get outside and I did some great sport climbing with some friends.

Props to CCP for a secure fix to an issue, not a jury rigged bondo patch over.

It sounds like they plan to accommodate us for our loss anyway, which is really just a nice good faith gesture.

So much free attorneys and some can't calculate properly but take a right to do enlightenment on others.
Still I think somebody who is providing service can take some responsibility for out of service more than 18 hours. So some nice gift to us will be more than welcome.
I am sure guys, some bad peoples are certainly quilt for lack in security but thank you for enlightenment.

As stated a DDoS attack, can't be prevented... at ALL. If it happens, you mitigate your losses and cut the line. Realize this, when a company/site get's DDoS'd it consume's SOOO much bandwidth that many provider's actually penalize you on top of it. So some prick DDoS's you, and you pay for it, two folds.

This is a game, a game that offer's you free expansions. A game that allow's you to play for free, and allow's you to pay for time beyond then the ability to play but ability to play what you want. A game that doesn't have ridiculous DT's once a week, instead has small lunch break's easily overlooked.

18hrs... we're damn lucky they got bored. If someone REALLY wanted to be a prick they could of kept it up longer.

Have some consideration, and appreciate what you're given. However asking for free ****, because a car ran through the restaurant and hit the waiter carrying your food, is just damn inconsiderate.

FYI, CCP was never in the habbit of throwing free sp... EVER. I remember I got some for my learning skills when THEY WERE REMOVED... other then that... nope. The fact they actually said "Hey, we threw an update at your guy's without saying a word really that ended up being a total lemon, sorry... here's a day... on us." BLEW ME AWAY. I logged in to see those points, and immediately looked to what skill I lost only to find the apology. It made me appreciate the company integrity, and if It wasn't for the fact i practically had a day left on my BC5, I would of held on them to remind myself why I love this game... and the company that made it.

It just annoying to hear people now ask for it every problem now. Like they are owed it, for things beyond the company's doing.

THIS IS WHY WE CAN'T HAVE NICE THINGS.

EDIT** I also lost 6hr training time on a character I use....
SIX HOURS... EVEN IF IT BEEN 18... THE **** TO DO I CARE. It's not like that half a day really RUINS my month. I'm here to play not be sold, I can handle losing a few hours here and there.
