Urgent action needed

I do not normally do this sort of thing unless it is of the utmost importance and that there is even the slightest chance of hope that it could save someone's life. I received an email from Change.org pertaining to a petition that is about a 10 yo girl in dire need of a double lung transplant. Due to the way the rule governing pediatric transplants, there is a good likely hood she will die if immediate steps are not taken to correct this one idiotic rule. Please take the time to read the petition and if so inclined. Sign it....

I might just be a bitter vet (irl) but this isn't even remotely the first person to die for their country. Just chalk it up to yet another noble sacrifice for the greater good.

That child is lucky, to be given the honor of dying for their nation.

You have my respect, but not my sympathy.

The medical community made those rules to do the "most good for everyone", in policies like this sometimes sacrifices have to be made, but we should thank those who sacrifice.

It is for the best.

Though I will recommend you get a national health system sorted out and an opt out only for organ donations, propose that to your elected officials as its worked out pretty well over here.

Nothing to sign here. A case of a mother who wants to skip in line ahaed of all the other children, and even in front of all thr adults (there aren't any child lungs available. The lung the mother is trying to get is an adult long that will have to be cut down and much of it wasted). In other words, she doesn't care about all the other kids ahead of her that need a lung, nor does she care about a father who may die because they gave his designated lung to this girl, leaving behind 2,3,4 kids without a fathers support and income because HER daughter is a special little butterfly above all others.

She didn't make the score. Life's a *****. Deal with it.

Well, your way is a tad harsh... but then, that's about it. Obviously everyone will do anything to save his/her children. Specially letting some stranger die because he/she is not his/her lovechild.

And this is why protocols exist.

This is also why many countries won't allow you to pay for an organ and cause the death of someone who couldn't afford it (some call that "organs trade" rather than "manslaughter" because of marketing reasons).

Convict organs from China, live teeth for dental implants from poor people in Africa. I won't even discuss the nasty New Jersey funeral homes scandal.... Market forces at work. Ugh This stuff is in the Book of Revelations, the part where people get so bad that the Four Horsemen have to be turned loose on them. Well, it ought to be in there at least.

Luckily nobody would want my organs. Too full of beer, tar, pork and beef fat, jalapenos, and McDonald's french fries.
