Hi all!

Anyone know where I can get one of these? Im specifically looking for a mega.

Any ideas? I'm desperate?!!?

a good point was made in a previous EVE ship thread, it had to do with 3D printing--

unless it's been licensed by CCP, there shouldn't be anyone selling EVE ships commercially.

No, CCP sold a set of 4 Resin BS a while ago. I too wanted to get a set, but it looks like they have been discontinued.

was it battleships? I thought it was just a dram and a couple others... a rifter, iirc...

are we looking for an ebay auction then?

don't know much about this stuff ... but.

Can you use a 3d modelling programme to extract the ship data and info from the database, and then parse that info into a 3d printer or lathe ?

if not, how would you get it done ?

yes roughly.

also, a solidworks file can be used to order the whole thing machined from a solid block of aluminum.. but for something perhaps 45 cm across and 25 cm high, it would be ... $1000 USD-ish.

I think they were initially very expensive at over $100 each if I remember. Fortunately I was broke at the time and by the time I had enough money they had dropped to $64.99. I think they had dropped even further in price be the end of the year when the shop was clearanced out and I heard that the few remaining ones were sold at fanfest. These ships are very well made and are very heavy, The Megathron is bigger (and similar in shape) to one of my shoes! The ships are removable from the stands.

I have one of the Megathrons, sitting in my display cabinet.

Beautiful model, good detail, painting could have done with a steadier hand, but that's part of the charm I guess.

I still have the original packaging too.

It will unfortunately have to move down a shelf when I finally acquire the Rodger Young Corvette Transport from Starship Troopers.

Who would have wanted a replica of the old Megathron anyways?

Give me a model of that new sexy Megathron...or the Vindicator..or the glorious Kronos! Drool.....

For some of you asking for extracted and cleaned up models of some of the Eve Ships, I have been doing this for a little bit now. If you have access to a 3D printer, you can use these models to print out your own ships.

I wish CCP would allow me to sell printed ships, but alas, I think their legal team would find issue with it.
