Which video card?

I currently have a Dell box with a i7 920 @2.67GHz, 6 Gigs of RAM. I have a Radeon 6800 series video card @ 1MB. I would like to run 3 clients at a time on the highest graphics settings. My current card does 1 client perfect but struggles with 3 on the highest settings. What card would you suggest to achieve this? If it makes any difference, I use one monitor.

My GTX 660 runs 5 maxed out, I imagine a GTX 650 or 650ti would also do the trick.

Set texture quality to high, turn everything else to off and low, you get nice looking ships.

I find the real killer is Shadows. Disable shadows and you can multiply the number of clients 4 fold. I don't think any cards can handle the GUI of multiple accounts in EVE or any game with shadow and shader effects at max.

Thanks for the feedback. I turned the shader to low and turned the HDR off and was able to run 3 clients at once at about 40 to 60 FPS. Would going from my 6870 to a GTX 670 or 7000 series equilivant really give me a noticeable boost? Probably talking 300 to 400 bucks for a new card.

I would say a 7950 would be a good place to start, saves a lot on 7970 but still plenty of power.

6 GB May not be enough ram for 3 clients.

Ya I will probably look to increase the memory at the same time. I am leaning towards the GTX 670

Do CCP have any deals with either Nvidia or AMD? Just curious if the game code shows any preference for one make of card over another?

I agree with this. The 7950 is a good card for a decent price. If you want a cheaper card maybe look at the 7770.

This being Eve, that should read "Titan" or gtfo.

I got my GTX 680 and 12GB of ram (3 4GB sticks) today. But things didn't go all that well after installation. Hoping someone might be able to give me some advice on what might be going wrong.

1) No issues with the GTX 680 installation. After I got the drivers updated, I tried it out in EVE. First thing I noticed is was in the character selection screen where the background was not black as usual, it was an interesting shade of light green. When I got into the game, it was all messed up. The screen was a combination of the light green and red. The green and red was like a haze on the screen and my ship was barely visible. Tried to reboot but the issue was still there. I reinstalled my 6870 and everything is fine. Weird thing about when I had the GTX 680 in was there was no issues in Windows or anywhere else I tried until I started to play EVE. EVE Is the only game I play on my computer so I wasn't able to test on another game. Thinking about just RMAing this thing back to Newegg and getting the same card again. Any idea what this might be? Just a bad card?

2) My computer is only recognizing 8MB of the 12MB I installed. I have 6 memory slots that previously had 6 1MB sticks installed. Could this be happening due to the BIOS needing updating? The specs on my board said it can take up to 12MB. I went from PC 1066 to PC 1333 which is supported by my board. Not sure if that makes any difference.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I run two GTS450 in SLI. The cards were the $120 about two years ago. I run three maxed clients at the same time. I imagine that you could do the same with the current $120 EVGA card.

My buddy has this same issue with the same card. He has not found a fix.

lol you dont need anything near a 780, Titan, 690 or 680. You dont even need to be in the 600 series to run EVE maxed out.

I have 2 680's, but I use it for real games that actual push my system. EVE doesnt qualify - maybe when they add tessellation and high res packs.
