its cool to be able to get a golden pod for a char to fly, BUT, the implant based solution means that you permanently lose the golden pod if you unplug the implant.

This might cause some tears as people are paying a high price for the collectors edition and if people want to move the gold pod to a another character or they accidentally unplug it they destroy the implant.

Reading comprehension. You have a noticeable lack of it.

Anyways, the act of unplugging destroying the implant is kind of meh. Can we have some confirmation on this, CCP?

The implant thing is a good way to do it, but for the drunk stories i've heard of some people, it might be a bad choice since they might accidentally remove the implant and lose a 150$ item...

as I have tested it on SISI, when the implant gets unplugged, it gets destroyed.

also when I entered captains quarters with the implant in my head, the pod thats visible in the captains quarters was still the green one.

It even says as much in the implant description:

Quote:
Once installed, the implant is a permanent part of the capsuleer's brain (unless intentionally removed by the wearer),

Maybe this will stop people from tearing out all their implants when caught in a bubble, for risk of misclicking the gold one

I reported this as a bug yesterday and was told within a couple hours that it was an intended feature.

"Ouch, my immersion" and "lazy and utterly lame" come to mind.

Maybe CCP should only let you take out/in implants in station. I know for people like me who live in WHs it may suck to do that BUT it would keep people from lowering our kill mails as well. Make a story behind it like "You have to be in a station because of medical procedures" or something.

Today, someone said to me that the Golden Pod implant can be safely removed.

Every time I try to ask about this, I get told "it's not destroyed when you die". Even though that's not what I was asking at all. It's as if people are unable to remember that there's such a thing as unplugging implants.

I always ask whether the implant is destroyed if you "accidentally unplug" it. People seem capable of misclicking when they're trying to hit that big yellow arrow, so perhaps they may accidentally unplug the wrong implant. Malicious spouses who hate EVE, children who don't know/care what they're doing or friends playing a "hilariously awesome joke" come to mind as other reasons your USD $150 implant might be unplugged as well.

If the implant is indeed permanently destroyed when unplugged, and intended to be so, then the savvy capsuleer may do well to rid himself of these risks to his expensive toys.

File a petition if you accidentally remove the implant. It's possible CCP can make an exception for this.
