Amarr - Slave or Snake?

I have strong training in Amarr and I'm trying to decide between the two. I mainly fly Frigate and Cruiser sized hulls.

What would you recommend?

Are the Amarr any good at Nano or is my best bet to brawl?

I would go snakes -

For an Amarrian to stick a slave in him just seems back to front somehow.

It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine.

I'm pretty sure many Amarrians had slaves stuck in them repeatedly during revolt.

If you're asking this question then you're most likely not going to benefit from either. These implant sets are extremely pricey and used for very specific purposes. It's not as simple as just a small boost in one stat, you need to combine them with links and good fleet support. Few thousand extra ehp with slaves won't save you in most situations, neither will the few hundred extra m/s unless you know for sure it's goin to swing the fight in your favour.

They are if you're flying carriers, command ships and tech 3s. Mostly combined with links

Faction BS's and BS's with resist bonus also benefit from them a lot.

It is simple: if in your PvP experience, you often get into fights where a 10-15% EHP make a difference, or where a small speed boost would have made a difference, then you know if Snakes or Slaves would have been useful.

If you don't get into fights often where that would make a difference, then it is not very useful

Both can be used to great effect with amarr hulls.

Slaves give hulls like the Punisher, Vengeance, Maller, navy Augoror, Zealot and Legion a lot more EHP what can be used to outlast targets if it comes to brawling. Zealot for example can even operate fairly well under sentry agro with HG Slaves, giving you a very mobile hull with a lot of range and good gtfo ability's with the staying power of a BC.

Snakes on the other hand are very useful for kitting setups with the Slicer, Zealot, Navy Omen.

A gank fitted Oracle or Harbinger also work incredible well with both options, giving them more speed to kite better or more ehp to outlast targets in a straight brawl.

Amarr are a bit slower nano hulls(compared to mini), however they hit incredible hard at kitting range(thx to scorch) and other fast hulls are nearly always shield tanked, making them somewhat of the gank option for kitting setups.

same skills (pilot and char) 1v1 same ship, the one with slaves will stand, so yea they are worth the price, if you fly in blobs with a cruiser or bc or even a bs slaves would make almost no difference when you are primary you die same goes for snakes

Snakes unless you are a dedicated BS+CS+T3+guardian+cap pilot.

Snake is both:
- offensive, as it allows you to catch things that could otherwise escape.
- defensive, as it allows you to kite, speed tank or gtfo
- but it's only useful for fast hulls, usually cruisers and smaller (Machariel, Sleipnir and some BCs being exceptions).

Slave is only defensive.
