First there's no clans in eve, they are called corps or alliances vets look down on people who use wow terminology. Second these kind of posts are only allowed in recruitment forums. Third don't expect immediate responses.

Always willing to help all you have to do is ask, though if you're in the other fleet I may not help the way you want. Just a heads up. Pub Channel: Lost Souls Trading Post

Hrmmm that's odd, clans are not from WoW... Guilds are from WoW. Clans are from games like Darkfall. Just saying :) Or they look down on any kind of reference of Corps other than what Eve classifies them as?

Tip 1: As said, use EVE slang...not other MMO slang...so you are looking for a corporation.

Tip 2: Take a look here: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=16943&find=unread
Useful guide about how to find a good corp (read the entire thread).

*Does his typical victory dance. Yet again I beat my corp mom to it*

Tip 3: Recruitment is not allowed here, so you will have even less chance of finding someone here.

Tip 4: will update after I have read your recruitment thread post

My apologies... I have never played WOW. "Clan" came from my days in Asheron's Call.

inb4 try E-Uni

If you like being part of a swarm search Brave Newbies

If you like the idea of solo or small gang Pvp search Black Dragon Fighting Society

If you want to stay positive sec status try Fleet Warfare or RvB

Also confirming Corp not clan and don't call your character a Toon apparently that really pisses Eve players off Lol

I have deliberately developed an air of cynicism that I originally intended to make me appear somewhat louche and caddish but actually comes across as irritable hostility combined with the unspoken threat of sudden violence.....

Yeah never played either just annoying when people try to make annologies between games that aren't similar just because all theme park mmos are the same.

I read over your recruitment post real fast, and the idea behind the post is not bad at all.

You seem exited about the game, which is always good, but you keep referring to another game and use the same terms and seem to look for the same experience in EVE as you had there.
Note its fully understandable that you compare the two (or more) games to some extent, but the way your post is worded it sounds like you have not done any real research about EVE at all, and jumped straight in thinking its "just the same as [game], lets find a random corp and start having fun.

You also need more patience...Keep bumping the thread for several days, but this is mentioned in the link J'Poll gave you. Finding a corp in EVE is not as easy as finding a guild/clan/cabal in other games and recruiters and recruits both should be picky (recruits more so) and take their time before accepting an application/extending an invitation.

So...keep the level of excitement you have in your original post, but change the wording a bit and instead of saying "This is what i had in my other clan", say "This is what would make me feel welcome and enjoy from a corp".

Good luck Smile

I wonder why this is the case? Toon is a term used across a lot of different mmos, so it seems strange to me that Eve vets would take exception to it.

I always use the term "toon". But then I normally don't worry about bitter vet's reaction.

"Toon" is more..cartoonish and at least for me when i hear toon i think about more..well..colorful games such as WOW or similar.

Now combine the fact that EVE players tend to pretend to have an issue/dislike for WOW players in general, and EVE looks and feels a lot more mature and dark, saying "toon" just seems wrong since EVE is not really a cartoonish looking game (thinking colorful, very basic characters, and the graphics in general appeals more to a younger audience).

Of course i cant say everyone feels the same way, but thats why i dont feel right using that term in EVE even if i use it in other games.
