As the title says, "Could you please stop moving it?" I think it's great that you're including the version number...but, how about putting it in a txt file or something? Does it absolutely positively *HAVE* to be in the directory name? Really?

I point my icons directly to the launcher instead of to the eve.exe file (why have a 3rd party program launch it and then have a crap load of icons on the taskbar?) With my toons images pointed to their launchers...you keep breaking them every launcher update... can't you keep it going to the launcher directory please?

Thank you.

Ah, you are not supposed to launch the files in those versioned folders yourself directly, please link to eve.exe. The reason why we need to have the version number in there is the automatic update mechanism of the launcher. Since you cannot replace files on Windows that are currently in use then this requires an extra process that installs the new version either in a different folder or with a different name - both would break your hyperlinks.

Going through eve.exe should impose nothing but a few milliseconds of difference in start up times. If it causes any issues then please file a defect report describing the problem in more details. :-)

Thank you for the quick response. I was thinking the same thing. I was just attempting to minimize the number of icons on my taskbar at one time.
