Hi have tried for the past 3 days to get eve to run on my ubuntu 12.04 x64 machine. at first i managed to get it to run with glitchy graphics, then I purged all my ati drivers, followed numerous tutorials for running on wine, but now, all i get is the launcher, then when it is supposed to show the login info, it just comes up blank. I have re installed all my drivers, configured wine, I have even tried crossover which seamed to work better than wine, up until the login screen on the launcher. has anyone got a good workaround that i can use to play the game?

I should buy an Ishtar.

Instead of using the launcher, have you tried to use the ExeFile program (located in the EVE\bin folder, at least on Windows) with WINE? It bypasses the launcher and uses the old login screen. If you can't get it to work with WINE then you're probably better off dual-booting Windows/Mac if possible. I'm sorry I can't be more helpful.

Edit: You might get better feedback in the Linux or Issues, Workarounds, and Localization subforums.

And do pay a visit to the Linux subforum under EVE Technology and Research thingy.
