Greetings

Wow only twenty posts into a thread and we already have gratuitous use of the quote function. Consider this a friendly reminder to refrain from pyramid posting and ranting. Continue with the discussion.

I am always amused that the "game is too easy in null," crowd crops up just before every content patch to lament.

Yeah, there's a lot that has changed in ten years, but not being forced to putter along side a freighter twenty jumps from nowhere is not a bad thing. I'd sooner pull my hair than try to keep my outposts stocked with manual freighter convoys.

just remove the jump drive in any incarnation, normal, jump bridge, titan bridge etc. allow cap and super to use gate putting a restriction on 0.5. Peoples will move to high sec because the life is too harsh in null, well start to move all the activity that are currently done in high sec to null: research, industry, pos, mining, mission etc. To begin with high sec should have be like the character starting zone in other mmo not something you can consider another form of end game.

My initial inclination would be to alter the way cyno's work so that they don't appear on the overview as they do now, but at the same time disallow ships from cynoing into pos bubbles and directly onto stations. Also perhaps some travel time added, after all you are jumping light years so surely it should take some time to travel that distance much like stargates take a few seconds to send you to the next system.

Yes this would hurt me :( But I feel that it is necessary to I'm willing to take the hit. And the cyno not appearing on the overview would mean you could still get ships around but just need to be more patient and get good intel.

that's one of the big problems, cynos showing on overview. Get rid of that (ie make people have to "scan down" a cyno) and moving cynos away from structures makes sense.

But forcing people moving valuable stuff to do so when doing so paints a big target on them, that's just not going to work. Yea, in a perfect world that would generate "pvp opportunities" but in reality people just don't work like that.
