Someone I know personally offered to trade a nice couch for my alt character. Would this be against the rules since its not technically RMT? Smile

Maybe

Now, more than ever, we need a dislike button.

I think it is RMT but I think the bigger issue is. Are you going to trade the alt through the character exchange and pay the plex or cost or is he asking for the account?

Account sharing is against the EULA. While I am pretty sure that is about a 1 percent change CCP would find out or even care in this case. It is against the rules.

It is probably against the eula

However selling the character for 1 isk(and him happening to gift you a wonderful couch) should be pretty legit.

I am confused. Are there new couches in the NEX store now, or what?

Do it like this, this is the best suggestion here.

By the way, since we're already talking, do you want to buy a rifter? I've got the cheapest rifters in Metropolis. If you can find a cheaper rifter, buy it!

If you give him the character as a gift and he gives you the couch as a gift I don't see a problem. What?
Not sure you're even serious, but anyway..

I think CCP have bigger issues they are focused on than worrying about your illegal couch trading.

I think the "Couch" is actually paypal monies. Either way, strict reading, I believe a couch is an out of game property/money/service that isn't on the list of exceptions to the no in game asset for out of game consideration clause, so yes, against EULA.

Actually, the wise people who drafted the Character Bazaar rules back in the day had accounted for this eventuality:

Quote:

The character being sold must receive the ISK for the purchase and only ISK. Characters may not be sold in exchange for items.

Therefore, trading characters for couches would be against the EULA. Smile
