Though yes I would like to see a balanced approach WiS core needs to be shelved for now until they figure out a clear and concise direction to move with those features.

Right now where they are at I approve. Technical Artist working on optimization, Regular artist assesting resources for the future, networking guys making it all talk better and the fashion artist still on the payroll to expand the nex store.

Everyone else back in space and working on the next big thing, Dust 514 intergration.

My point in that thread was that if there really is a huge population of Eve players who can't live without space barbies that the fastest way to be heard is to get them all to unsubscribe to protest CCP refocusing on actual Eve gameplay. Of course there isn't a huge population of Eve players who can't live without space barbies so it's not like I'm suggesting something that's going to cause CCP to go bankrupt.

Personally I think a mass-account ban of people in Goon or Test would really help the game.

....as if 10,058 Goon voices cried out and were suddenly silenced.

Devs in god mode ships blowing everything up and putting it on Youtube would be far more entertaining.

CCP - Building ant hills and magnifying glasses for fat kids

Not even once

EVE is becoming shallow and puerile; it will satisfy neither the veteran nor the "WoW" type crowd in the transition.

Really? since when? If miners say anything about wanting to mine in peace its a PVP game first, a sandbox second. Same for missioners or anyone else in High sec.

Lol you mass ban Goons thats what 9k active subs right off the top? How do you make sure you get all the alts?

Nah. Just break their toys and make them cry until they say, "I'm not playing with you any more."

Actually, if you ban all the Goons, you let them win EVE. Youve just gotten CCP to ban 9k people for playing them game.
Theyre not doing anything illegal (that we know of and if you know they are report it), and banning 9k ppl for doing nothing more than playing the game is a great precedence

I honestly did unsubscribe three of my four accounts over it. No biomass though. There's room in EVE for WiS and FiS and I'll just wait and see what happens.

While you're waiting for WiS to get released, may I suggest the following activity in the meanwhile?

WiS Replacement

No I'll just pick from one of the other ninenty nine percent of mmorpgs. You know, the barbie ones. Or perhaps just wait for Skyrim. You know... the barbie one.

If this back and forth keeps up, CCP will compromise with "Walking in space."

Maybe Michael Jackson would have wanted that, but I don't.

Previous unsub here. Reasons are many, but include botched WiS.

Contrary to what I've seen some vocal hardline FiS'ers imply: EVE isn't a FiS game. It may have started life with only Flying in Space as a gameplay option, but the end-goal as indicated by CCP's "future vision" (should they not screw it up) is much more: EVE attempts to be a complete sci-fi universe.

That's why I play, and I'm willing to bet many others to do. No matter what area of EVE a player finds most engaging, he/she is bound-up in the actions of other styles of play. PVP affect markets which are affected by industry, which is affected by planetary interaction and mining, etc; they're all linked together, and so should WiS eventually become.

A game that is only about FiS is no more EVE than a game that is only about WiS. And I'd want to play neither for very long if either were not included. I see it as another expansion of the "complete" EVE universe. In fact I'm willing to bet a significant chunk of players were enticed by this vision of EVE, and especially what we saw back at E3 2007.

I will be unsubbing again until the next promotion and/or until WiS. Winter expansion may pique my interest, but honestly just another patch to FiS does not constitute an expansion to me. It should be an expansion of the universe, as we descended onto the surface of planets (yeah I know dominion was lame) I am waiting for the next horizon: the plunge into stations (yeah, I know Incarna was lame too). Putting this off indefinitely or maiming it in favor of some other facet of gameplay will slowly kill of the playerbase and since this includes a lot of potential and/or new players, (unlike the last protest) delaying WiS may very well be a silent killer.

I don't know about that. They kept two new players that I know of interested in the game by removing the forced CQ.

Tbh I don't give a **** about WiS. I play EVE because I want to fly motherfucking spaceships. As long as I can opt out of WiS altogether, I'll pay my subs like a good boy. But if I get forced into a ******* CQ or station bullshit again, CCP won't get a lick of my money.

Leaves only the fresh scent of pine.

WiS guys aren't going anywhere.

1. They're attempting to use a similar tactic to the FiS fans over the summer. They aren't unsubbing though, simply shouting.

Nice strawman. I have yet to see a single WiS-lover threaten to unsub; let alone biomass. Oh, and exactly how many FiS-ers actually biomassed last summer, hum?! I rest my case.

The 'calls to unsub' weren't even real. More like a typical form of gloating. As in: "Unsub, if you dare! You're not going to anyway; and if you do, good riddance!" Whenever CCP decides in favor of one particular group of players, they immediately start gloating at the others. All of this has happened before, and all of this will happen again.

Nothing to see here; please, move on.

I don't feel embarrassed about not liking the original avatar set-up. I just didn't like it; it didn't draw me in to the wonderful next levels of the game.

I've enjoyed reading your contributions to the forums in my month here and I hate to see people whose opinions I respect let a personal opinion override their otherwise fine wit and knowledge.

Sure it is. Unless you count walking around a rusted out room and playing dressup in the microtransaction store to be amazing gameplay.

I like wearing pretty things. I also like killing people up close and personal better than blowing up one ship with another.

I won't quit the game, of course. But I am disappointed that we won't be seeing the inside of a station any time soon.
