One of the commenters on my last post was a coalition map would be more useful then Sov map. I created a map over on my blog. The map will update once a day with the current sovereignty information. If anyone notices any inaccuracies please shoot me a mail. There is a couple alliances I was not sure about such as ROUGE. They are not currently listed on the map because from what I can gather they are blue and red to parts of the CFC and N3. I Didn't know were to put them. I also listed RED and Solar on the map for the moment even tho they are not a Coalition.

Coalition Map

Its nice to have an up to date Coalition map.

Though if I could suggest one thing it would be for some of the coalition colours to be different.

Dinner Squadron, Provi Bloc and Rebels use colours that are also used in the background by the map itself, it makes it harder to distinguish them from the rest of the map and eachother.

BoBwins Law: As a discussion/war between two large nullsec entities grows longer, the probability of one comparing the other to BoB aproaches near certainty.

Verite's code is open source. You could probably just replace the alliance names with the coalition names and leave unaffiliated alliances intact, so while you'll just end up with a static image it'll be a lot cleaner.

Good work, in any case.

your right about the colors. I will fix those tonight for the next update. I also need to look into the font size of region names there kinda small on some browers. I originally tried to do it as a png like the Verites maps. I had a look at there source. The process to generate there maps takes a really long time to complete it draws the map pixel by pixel. I don't have access to a web server were the process can run for long period of time. In the future I may be able to do it Verties style. Thanks for the comments I am always open to other peoples opinions and ideas. I wouldn't of came up with this idea without them.

performance seems really bad under Firefox, on chrome it works perfectly. most likely a problem with ff, hopefully fixed in the next release. (there are a lot of performance fixes coming up on the nightly builds, but i haven't tested your website with them.)

good work!

I thought you were kidding, Firefox really doesn't like the map, takes several seconds to load and then once it does, the framerate plummets.

Ugh.

This should tell you something about Firefox.

It works great in Chrome.

Yeah Firefox seems to handle svg poorly lately. From what I read older versions handled it great. I updated the map with a change in colors and increased the font size for region names. I hope it makes the Coalitions easier to distinguish.

The map data, however, is incorrect.

DSP/INK are not members of N3.
PL Renters are also not members of N3

N3 is, however, a dull shade of orange.

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.

I have removed Brothers of Tangra and Darkspawn from N3 as Gustav II Adolf pointed out they are not members. However INK was kinda up and down since they do not participate in N3 operations but do defend N3 space. For the moment I have left them listed as N3.

Obvious lies and propaganda, everyone knows that the Big Blue Donut Coalition controls the whole of 0.0 and stops any fighting from taking place there.

For those who sent me messages about the map not being updated. The cron failed last night and I had to run it manually this morning. If you have viewed the map recently you may need to clear your cache.

I have added the Big Black Coalition to the map since it looks like they will be getting Sov soon.
