Using the example of veldspar.

Right now i have refining V
Refining eff V
and veldspar processing IV.

How much standings would i need to get to 100% refine when refining Veldspar at a station with 50% refine?

I suppose this is more of a math question lol

6.67 for no taxes
You only need mineral specific skill at only 2 with ref eff 5

Does me having a mineral specific skill at 4 instead of 2 mean i need less standings? It should right?

No, extra skill helps only on refineries with lower base refines, like POSes etc.

Your skills are too high for a 50% station. You only need the material specialization skill at level 1 for a perfect refine, and you don't need it at all with a 2% refining implant.

Yield = MINIMUM(100% , Station Facilities + 37.5% * (1 + Refining * 2%) * (1 + Refinery Efficiency * 4%) * (1 + Material Specialization * 5%))

Refining Tax ("We Keep") = MAXIMUM(0%, 5 - 0.75 * Standing)

Note that 5 / 0.75 = 6.67

Put simply, Your corporation standing affects how much they 'Charge' you for refining, your skills affect how good you are at refining.

So with perfect skills, they will still charge you unless they like you (as the others say 6.67)

My skills are a bit of overkill due to getting t2 mining crystals. Oh well. Time to start grinding standings.... hurray..

He'd benefits from the Connections. skill Standing 5-or-so + Connections 4 should get him to zero tax, or at least close.

OK, the effect of the Connections skill isn't so big for high standings, after all. I've got Connections trained to 5, and it bosts a standing from 5.89 up to 6.71, which is enough to get me perfect refine.

The way standings work:

an 4% gain in standings, is 4% of the difference between your standing and 10.

So as you get closer to 10, it becomes less and less useful.

Woo! CSM XI!
