101 MB launcher???? really??

I just noticed, the launcher itself already takes up 101 MB.

Not that 101 MB is any problem for me or anything, but MY GOD!!!!!!!! how inefficient can you be man......??????

A 101 MB for a small graphical launcher, is about 70 to 90 MB to much.

After the patch we're giving the market some gentle supply restriction, like tying one wrist to the bedpost loosely with soft silk rope. Just enough to make things a bit more exciting for the market, not enough to make a safeword necessary.  -Fozzie

On mine with the launcher open but game not active, it's 70.1 Mb

Just checked a second time to see if the reading alters much.


Launcher open not in game
This time 69.9 but there is a second part to it which seems to stay around 3.7 (not added to first post of mine).

Well, to be very honest, this part of the launchers size has not been beaten to death yet.

I figured out the launcher keeps older versions of itself, thereby making it bigger and bigger with each update.
So a complete reinstall will make it smaller again, but i don't imagine anyone doing that over just 100-ish MB.

It is however, very sloppy coding.
It would have made sense to maybe keep at least the last "known to work" launcher, which you could revert to if needed.
But since eve will not work with an older version of the launcher, even that is redundant.

Run ExeFile from the EVE\bin folder and just skip the worthless launcher.

I really hope it still will Shocked I hat..um, very strongly dislike all these damn launchers.. When i click the icon to play EVE, i wanna PLAY EVE, not wait aditional time for the launcher to load and then read dev-blogs, watch trailers or get bombarded with plex-offers. That **** i can do on eveonline.com in my browser.

Game-developers are getting the mobil-phone desease i think. It have to do EVERYTHING...

no, its not getting removed with Odyssey. There is no definite date other than it wont be june 4th.

Doesn't even work for me now, exefile just launches the launcher.

Then you are doing it wrong. bin/ExeFile.exe will launch the client directly.

There's no "wrong" way of clicking on an icon in a folder. Mine opens the launcher as well.
