Well, that's come sooner than I expected.
Another nail in EVE's coffin, unless this launcher is turned around and given some proper functionality, FAST.

CCP are just charging on ahead with their plans for this, and ignoring the complaints of players. Now that we're all using a workaround, they remove that too to "force" us to use this launcher?

I remember the last time CCP tried to "force" us to do something back when Incarna happened - they removed ship spinning to "force" us to use CQ. That ended so well.

Meh. Now the username and password boxes are showing up again. False alarm I guess.
In fact, it looks like this is a generic, non-expansion-specific login screen. Could this actually be a good sign?

Approximately 75% of EVE Online's playerbase is entirely too resistant to change, simply because it's different.

CCP has stated they absolutely intend to phase out the login screen. Killing the EXEFile.exe method was for the best, even if you don't realize it yet.

The sooner you start acclimating yourself to a change, the sooner you're actually qualified to comment on it and provide feedback that's actually worth someone's time to listen to.

Personally I could care less about the login screen, and the launcher isn't too bad, it's just the horror for people who are multiboxing that are getting screwed over.(I don't multibox, but have in the past and the old launcher+log in screen worked great for that, launch 4 clients at once, log them in after eachother in a fast way and the new launcher is sadly less effective at that.

Ok 1st, I'm all for changes as long as they improve things. 2nd EVE.exe login still works just fine. 3rd Qualified feedback, I have tried the new launcher and it failed every which way except that it actually starts when I click the EVE icon on my desktop. It takes up to 1 min to go through its validation process everytime it is opened. Only remembers 5 of my accounts, so to log the others in I need to type in user names instead of being able to use the drop down. I have to accept the EULA everytime I want to login to an account. Mousing over the drop down arrow to login the accounts it does remember includes having to move the mouse around inside the box to get it to an active position where it is actually clickable. The login process takes extra time because even once the login is complete (clicked login) you are taken to another stage of the login where it asks whether you wish to switch accounts or play this one. Now funnily enough, had I wanted to play any of my other accounts I would have logged it in, not logged in 1 account knowing full well I would have to do the whole process again to login to a different account

The new launcher is faulty merchandise and should be mass recalled to the factory and repaired. Maybe wrong analogy but the idea is the same. Had EVE players gone out and purchased the new eve online launcher with the expectation that it would work as described, most would by now be contacting their nearest department of fair trading and filling in forms for a full investigation to be done by an independent body

New launcher sucks for multiboxing. Is really slow at changing clients. Also, if wanted the news, I go to a news channel. Dont make that launcher what religion is now.

Bob Artis, you will be missed.
