Eve launcher together with Steam?

This Steam user has no EVE account

Is there some way to connect these two to skip the login? Would make life easier for single accounters such as myself. My Steam account name is not the same as my Eve account name

Bought game with steam several years ago.

Still play EVE via steam,

Since the latest launcher update, I get the same error message in red above the log-in form.

"This Steam user has no EVE account"

Everything works as it should otherwise though.

Agree!
I think they are going to be fixing this soon. Look at the half-filled part of the glass man, we got the Steam overview working back again. :)

I rediscovered Eve through steam. Yet steam has brought me nothing but trouble when playing Eve. It still insists I only have the demo installed. Also when I went to renew my account. It registered under my steam ID. Which is not my Eve ID. That may have been partially my fault though. Doh.

I want to know how to make this work also! And I seriously have a hard time understanding how people still don't have Steam accounts. The future will not hurt you. Join us.

Actually what it says to me is he doesn't like 3rd parties involved.

I have Steam on my system thanks to Skyrim (which I'll probably remove soon) and I don't like Steam one bit. Even in the offline mode it still operates in the background.

Steam is great if you actually actively buy games from it and have a nice library there. If you're one of the people forced into using it because of games like Skyrim and you don't actually care about buying games from it/keeping a library of games on it, it sucks. It's just personal preference. Personally I have 50+ games on Steam and love it, everything in one place.

EvE on steam has never been good, and it makes sense, since it's a subscription based game, so Steam can never really figure out whether you've got the full version or not unless you actually bought the full version from them. It can't tell if you started on the demo from Steam and then subscribed via CCP.

As with others I get the weird red message, but the game still works fine otherwise. Plus we get the steam overlay in game now which is great!
