Hi as an ex necromunda player I was sad to hear that it looks like GW are finally pulling the life support plug on specialist games. However it appear that Mantic may be picking up the slack with a new skirmish game called DeadZone and modular plastic multi level buildings/terrain, there are free alpha rules available which look promising and there looking to start with 6 factions for further info and links to the rules downloads head to http://jamplify.com/HG5jE2

Big smile Yeah I spotted that, backed for the terrain sprues, little else. Blink Also backed Tablescapes earlier in the month for a single 4x4 foot table. Nice modular terrain is always useful, so worth getting at that price.

The main miniature game kickstarters I'm really waiting for is Darklands by Mierce Miniatures (delivery has started, but mine are being sent in a later wave, partially on request by me) and Kingdom Death : Monster, which is slated for November, but I'm counting on early 2014 for that to be honest, as it far exceeded expectations.

I'm in for a strike team and enough terrain to fit the nice 2x2 mat that comes with it besides I quite like the mini's especially the rebels.

Remember in the future, you will be able to 3D print anything you want, even long old forgotten minis.

I for one want the WH40k Dwarfs in space before the retcon Lol , I mean ... SQUATS Roll

Can't say I've ever gotten into any of Games Workshop's games. TBH, I'm not much of a wargamer; I'm more apt to play various RPGs. That said, I do love Battletech and its franchise in general, though I haven't played since the last campaign I was in ended.

I remember Necromunda. My Gangers are still piled in the communal dice box even to this day. Best battle that we ever had was on a 4 x 8 board (covered a pool table) with 3 box sets of cardboard scenery and every single hand crafted piece of scenery we could find. We had 6 gangs running and it took us all night to finish that game. I can't even remember who won that battle.

All this talk about custom figures and different game types that I never heard of made me remember something.

It has been forever since I played a good game of Risk.

Used to collect Warhammer (mostly FB) when I was younger, but it got so damn expensive. A regiment used to cost 150SEK (around 17 euro) but then the prices slowly went upwards. When it got to 250 (~29 Euro) I just couldn't afford it anymore. Waay to much for a 15-year old.
The Warhammer-worlds (both 40k and FB) are the best of all the fictional ones out there if you ask me. A shame Games Workshop got so damn greedy. Sad

I've played Battletech a few times, big brother of an had a set from before the Japanese corporations noticed they were nicking designs. Be fun to get those models back when 3d Printing goes mainstream Big smile

And now, once again, the giant clock inside GW HQ ticking down to the epic Squat rerelease has been reset by another five hundred years. For every time the word "Squat" is said or written, the ten full-plastic kits, the three resin fliers, the sixteen finecast character models and the codex itself are all withheld, the massive clockface whirring to the screams of Jervis Johnson as fate once more conspires against the beloved Space Dwarves...
