High sec exploration vs Gank fit lvl 4's

So I am currently training up for an incursion ship and in the mean time trying to amass around 2b. I have 2 options right now, High sec exploration in my ishkur which I currently do well with but not great or level 4's in a gank Domi (t2 sentries, 3 drone damage mods, omni tracking, sentry damage rig). The level 4's seem extremely bad, I run for caldari navy and only get 2-3m ticks which is basically complete crap it seems like.

So what is my option here for best isk? I don't really feel comfortable going to low sec to make money just yet as I am trying to get a comfortable source of income in high sec so I can support losing ships in low sec then moving into null.

Are you looting and salvaging the large wrecks?

Sounds like you should be out getting comfortable.

high sec missioning isn't about ticks, it's about LP and (sometimes) loot+salvage

if you were basing your income on rat bounty ticks while missioning: youaredoingitwrong.com

Missioning 101.

1. Find a suitable corp with valuable LP to mission for. Most LP is worth approximately 1k isk per LP and is a giant waste of time. The corp I run for is currently 2.5k ISK per LP and has been known to grant me over 3k at times. I'm not going to reveal which one I run for because that means less profit for me but all I will say is that running them for "obvious" corps like fed navy, caldari navy and republic fleet won't get you the results you desire.

There is an exception to this and that is to find a 0.5 sec system with multiple agents in it (if you want to stick in high sec) and run those. You get higher LP and ISK rewards the lower security status you go. Null sec missioning will grant the highest amount of LP but is obviously extremely dangerous some of the time.

2. Decide whether you want to blitz or clean.

Blitz means you kill only what is ABSOLUTELY necessary in a mission to maximise the LP/hour you gain. This is a high viable choice of missioning style and many people do it to great effect.

Clean (my own terminology, there may already be an established one I'm not aware of) means to loot and salvage what you kill. Some people may only clean the "high value" wrecks like battleships and others may consume the entire mission (I do this because OCD, meh). Another highly viable way to mission and grants some interesting bonus cash depending on how lucky you can get with loot.

3. FIT THE RIGHT SHIP FOR THE JOB. I can't stress this enough. Don't try and clean using a Tengu on sansha rats, don't attempt to blitz with a dominix without a prop mod on worlds collide. Use your common sense, experiment a bit.

I don't loot/salvage, I am currently running for caldari navy so that's probably why my isk/h sucks. I run a 900dps domi fit atm.

I've lived in 0.0 in the past but kept quitting eve because when we got camped/I couldn't find time to rat I never had a safe isk method t fall back on, so this time I am doing things properly, first getting a high sec isk method, then moving out to 0.0 and relearning to how live long term out there.

You absolutely want the highest ticks possible. Here's an example;

Gone Berserk: 20 minutes to kill everything and salvage everything. A million or so completion and bonus, 6k LP.

13 million raw cash, 25million in loot. That's 114 million an hour before considering LP. You wont get a mission like that every time, which is why it helps to have the favor of many many agents.

@ 2.5k LP you need 45kLP an hour to keep up, in a .5 system. So run WC (one of the better blitz missions) 5 times an hour. **** that, seriously. Especially since if you don't get the best bounty mission every time you obviously dont get the best LP missions every time either.

You want to be able to accept as many missions as possible. You want to Blitz the ones that make good LP and you want to run the ones with lots of bounties, and you want to salvage and loot everything. You dont want to blitz in a domi for sure.

This guy Moose Burger made a bunch of threads about rushing LP back in the day. I tried every missioning methodology (including his) and I am telling you that Sheer LP farming is not the best ISK per hour. You have to know when to hold em and know when to fold em.

I would say the jury is way out on this. Huge changes to exploration coming soon means it's going to be anyone's guess of how it works out in the long run. I would imagine we will have more explorers out trying the new features in the short term.
