Looking into alternatives to the drake, im planning on trying out with oracles and a dedicated frig killer for C2s, then throw in 2 logi cruisers ( osprey and basilisk ) for C3s. T3 cruisers are a no-go at the moment. Would this work? Are there better alternatives?

C2s can be done in a wide variety of ships from HACs to Command Ships, generally the Tier3 BCs aren't recommended because the rats in C2/3s are more on the small side and once they get under your guns/web you down, you won't be able to use your large guns at all, and they close distance very fast. That leaves your dedicated frig killer to do all the work.

For C2s I'd bring a bunch of ships that can solo the sites, like 2 BCs/CSs/HACs etc and for C3s the same deal but the only non T3 ships that can solo C3s are the Drake, well tanked Battleships, and Command Ships, using logi when you don't need it is just a waste of a pilot that could be doing dps to complete the sites faster thus earning you more iskies. If your logi pilots are dedicated and have no combat skills then a Tier 3 + a frig killer would work, but there are better options.

I've done many C2 sites in a Drake, but I doubt it can do any C3 site (maybe with T2 purgers, but one of those costs about as much as the hull itself if I'm not mistaken, so I wouldn't put them on a ship that's inevitably going to be ganked one day).

Nighthawk might be a good option since the hull is only 200 mils, being an EFT warrior I even made a fit for it, but I don't know how well it might perform in practice:

Hobgoblin II x5

Also, since Nighthawk's powergrid amount sucks it needs Shield Upgrades V and Advanced Weapon Upgrades IV.

Workarounds are not bugfixes.

Best choice for running C3 sites solo is imo a 2-XL-ASB maelstrom, given that you can ferry in some regular cap booster 400s to refill your hold between those anomalies. Your running costs for cap booster 400s consumed in the process should be barely noticable at all, since you rarely use those. You will have issues with the frigs though.

A Drake fitted for c3s can run c3 sites at ease, however it is painfully slow.

If you got 2-3 friends, you can fire up some RR-drakes to run those c3 sites in short time, also the investment for multiple drakes is still incredibly low with only a few hundred million ISK. 2-3 RR-Drakes will probably also run sites faster than alternatives consisting of two logi-cruisers.

In the very near future, you'll be able to run them c3 sites with 2 typhoons just fine :)

Edit: I personally ran c2 sites in a normal pvp-vaga, got decent dps at usual ranges, can defend itself against the frigsand also fight the occasional proteus decloaking next to you to the point where you got to bail from the 10-man ganksquad :)

Missile Boat are a bad choice since HM nerf, even command ships are slow.
My corp did c3 sites in remote rep tengu, now we upgraded to Gila´s.

3 Gilas with rep rep + energy are doing 1 site in about 4 minutes, Setrys for cruiser and BS, light drones for frigs.

I go Sleip with an XL ASB. Command Ships 5, 425s, and Barrage traslates to an optimal of 4k and a comfy falloff of 55k or so.

Tracks frigs well and doesn't take too long on the bs's but it is more pricy then a drake, bout in line with the maelstrom.

I do em in a tengu fitted for 450mil with ham's in about 15 min per site solo. i like the legion better for abit more isk and the proteus is a beast if you spend about a bil on it. Tengu is still the best isk for the price pre odyssey but after maybe a faction drake??

We find that Navy Scorps work really well. For the C3 two Navy Scorps each with a shield repper work Great with no worries. The new Scorp are getting the resist nerf, but they are getting an additional low slot and cruise missiles got buffed. None of mine can yet fly T3 so the Navy Scorp is great. Drones handle the frigs and each Scorp fit with a painter make short work of cruisers and above.
