Why size limits on courier contracts.

As a miner I regularly need to move ore (millions of m³)
The current limit per courier contract is under 1 million m³.

with this limitation I have to write a courier contract for each freighter load.
It is difficult to separate just the right amount of m3 to fill a freighter. This is very time consuming.

Why not allow players, to courier contract all they want in one contract ? Then the courier makes as many trips as are required to complete the single contract.

because a courier contract is just 1 big package. you can't separate items that are in the same contract. therefor the max contract size is limited to the largest freighter capacity

Why not allow one contract for several packages? When all packages are moved from point A to point B contract is complete.

Limiting contract size by max freighter capacity seems reasonable. If anything they should remove 200 stacks of items limit on contracts.

Learn refining/manufacturing skills
get some standings with NPC corporations
refine your ore
build t1 large guns
transport them
refine them at destination
profit!

Opinions are like assholes. Everybody got one and everyone thinks everyone else's stinks.

@ 100% Refine ; Profit is 8% better by selling ore as is.
To raise my standing to with NPC corp I would have to stop mining for some period of time. This would significantly effect my daily income.

I still see no reason to limit the m³ in courier contracts?

A nice option in my mind would be the ability to contract over a bunch of containers full of stuff I want shipped somewhere. Then the courier has the option of taking a few containers at a time.

That is to say, I wold like to tell the contract system to set up a dozen contracts for single containers, rather than one contract for a dozen containers.

In the case of contracting millions of m3 of ore or minerals, this would be achieved by shoving those items into freight containers, then contracting the freight containers. Thus it would also be nice if dragging a huge pile of stuff onto a stack of unassembled containers would start assembling containers and filling them one by one, leaving me either with a bunch of containers full of junk and a pile of unassembled containers, or a bunch of containers full of junk and the remaining items that wouldn't fit.

Problem is, you can't "forward" freight containers with stuff in them under current mechanics. Of course it depends on how the freighter pilot operates, if it's just your alt then who cares but if using a freight service this will probably matter.

I too would be happy to be able to create and set the size of multiple packages in a contract instead of just having it all put into one giant "courier package". This would also mean I could transport high volume low risk stuff in smaller ships with less trouble.

And why is that? Get your alt to do missions for corps you need standings with while your miner char does his work. Or hire someone to do missions and share rewards/standings with you. Ofc you'll have to compensate LP/reward you got that way, but thats normal.
